I cleaned her really well (LOADS of denim transfer on her). Then I custom mixed some fiebings dye (dark red and orange) with leather cpr. I think I did about 4 heavy coats (letting it dry in between) over several days. I touched up the piping with puffy paint (I know this may be a little taboo, but there was no getting it clean) and after that was dry and even, I buffed everything really well, conditioned with just the Leather CPR and then topped with Fiebing's leather sheen.Really nice! I found that the 2006 leather was dependent on the 'batch', for instance .. the first batch of bags were produced by a different leather maker than had been previously used. As such, that leather sucked .. it was thin, had distinct white lines (obviously the dye did not stick to the leather very well) .. in other words, it was horrific and not what the Balenciaga enthusiasts were expecting. Somehow, word got back to Balenciaga (their sales for early 2006 were not good), and as such .. Balenciaga went back to their original leather maker to make the 2nd and 3rd batch of the 2006 bags. I also have a few 2006 Bags, but mine are from the latter batches and the leather is nice .. what was expected from Balenciaga. I remember ordering the 2006 Emeraude from a store in the South (I was in New England) .. and when I got it, it was that horrible 1st batch leather!! I returned it and swore that I would never get a bag online; I wanted to see & feel the colors/leathers first-hand!New member, long time visitor to the purse forum! I just got this beautiful city 2 days ago at a consignment shop. It's a S/S 2006. I was bummed to have read that that year is considered not so great; I was just ecstatic to get a chevre bag (my only other Bal is a 2016 that I bought brand new). Still, it's sooo soft and smooth and gorgeous. You can tell it was well loved!

My past experience with Apple guard is that it looks n feels great when you just apply it. Give it a few months n the color on my Bals either turned yellowish or faded. Never again will I use it on my bags. Thanks! Even though it’s a bit faded from the original color it’s still a very strong color. And I’m really liking it and the crossbody strap!
I did a test patch in the bottom with Apple leather cleaner and conditioner on it and it looked great So I did the whole thing. After letting it soak in over night I put leather honey on it as well and there where no changes from it either.
I almost feel like this type of leather liked the apple conditioner better so I think that’s what I will use on it when it needs it again. But now it’s soft and supple, no more dryness! Relieved and happy at the same time! Lol!

This one gets a thumbs up from my teenage DD (which is monumental!!!). She said it is edgy. When I said thank you, she clarified it
was the bag that is edgy, not me
Lol! Of course teenagers can’t admit that mom is that cool! Hahaha!
