Nosy inquiry: how much did you pay for your setting?

I paid a measly $500 for my setting.. center stone was $16.5k

I paid $1000 for the setting while my middle stone was bought $76000 at that time. Now it is $200000 or more, and am looking for a new platinum setting, one with less than $2000, perhaps.

I got my setting from Knoxjewelers. The Setting is named Elegance, when I bought it I think it was around $590 the matching band was a little more. I looked at their website & it is now $1,190. I would never pay that now.

Come to think of it, maybe I should've JUST asked for a bigger stone to begin with and buy a cheaper setting! An extra $1300 towards the stone would totally make a difference!

My setting is a hand engraved, 18K white gold filigree with melee diamonds. Cost $789.

my platinum setting was free. i negotiated and negotiated until i got something. since the jeweler was not budging much on the price of the center stone, he threw in the setting for free to sweeten the deal.
although my setting is simple (diamonds on a shared prong) it's obviously not branded since it was free. i was really surprised (and happy!) he did that but was quite pleased with my tactic.
