this is pretty typical for many non-coated canvas. which is why I typicaly try to steer clear. they are especially sensitive to the corner wearing, which is why I store my bags on towels [line the shelves with actual towels] to stop some of the friction that will cause wear. ppl look at me crazy but hey...my bags stay in impeccable condition. To me, dust bags are not enough, I need something thicker

Ok I have no affiliation whatsoever. I read an article about Rago Brothers is Morristown, NJ. They have their own website. The article talked about the fact that when you take your designer item back to the company, many of them just send to Rago. They fixed a beat up gucci bag and wallet for me.

Hope this helps anyone who needs it!

I have had several bags repaired by Rago Brothers and IMO they do excellent work...Actually 2 bags have come back from being repaired look better than when I purchased them on sale..

A recent thread in the Chanel forum about Rago Brothers said that they damaged the Chanel bag that the OP sent in for repair, and while re-plating the gold hardware, they did a very uneven job:

Besides, the Gucci GG canvas cannot be repaired to its original state once it has been worn down. Unlike leather which can be re-finished with a dye that can hide imperfections, the canvas cannot be dyed to return the original GGs to the part that is worn.

Thanks for sharing the Chanel issue...I hope Rago Brothers will correct and or fix the issue...However I have had several items repaired or replenished by this company with great results....However I will admit that it's been at least a couple of years ago since I had my last repair done...
