Nordstroms has a pretty open return policy I've noticed. Especially, even accepting returns on worn shoes. But my question is, obviously they are unable to sell these items, so where do they go???

This all came up because I am trying to locate a shoe and my SA told me that a few have popped up in the past as returns in the system, but they have all been in "unsellable" condition.

So I just can't help but thinking that my shoes are out there, with just maybe a little wear to them(which I don't mind) and just wondered if anyone knows that happens to this so called unsellable merchandise. Does it get donated? Go to a large wearhouse sale somewhere? :thinkin:Could I use bribes to get me SA to sell them to me under the table??

JK about that last one! I love my SA too much to appear seeming a bit um..physco..yeah.

Thoughts anyone?

If the shoes can be "refurbished," Nordstrom refurbishes them and sends them to Nordstrom Rack. There has been a discussion on this topic a while ago, and some members were concerned that they would inadvertently pick up a used pair. However, Nordstrom clearly labels them as "refurbished" on the labels so that confusion is unlikely.

Of course, if the shoes are severely worn and cannot be refurbished, they would probably get tossed out.

I have a "refurbished" pair from NR and actually couldn't even tell that they weren't new until I saw the label. I mean, they were in newer conditions than something on display, IMO. They are Cole Haan Nike Air pumps that retailed for almost $300 (I believe, I dunno) and I got them for $69.

I would ask your SA if they are going to be "refurbished" and ask how much they would be discounted. There is nothing "psycho" about this question, I don't believe... :shrugs:

^^ Thanks for that helpful info! I had always wondered. Well, my SA says the computer shows they are at "x" store and when he called "x" store to get them for me, no one could seem to locate them in the stock rooms. So I called "x" store myself, and still no luck. I wonder if this means they had already been sent out for refurbishing or tossed- if that was so, I would think that they would then be removed again from the computer system, but who knows.
If the situation was that the pair had a physical presense, then I may inquire more on how to purchase the refurbished pair, but I guess the problem here would be they first need to figure out what happened to the supposed pair that was returned.

And I don't believe that nordstrom has a "returns" department that they could be lurking in.... They are just returned at the regular shoe section right?

If they can be refurbished, they go to Nordstrom Rack. If not, they go to their "Last Chance" outlet store in Phoenix. They also send stuff there that's not in bad shape, just older - so if the merchandise doesn't sell at NR, it eventually ends up there. I've seen designer shoes there with minor scuffing on the soles for 90% off retail. That store is literally the only thing I miss about living in Phoenix.

I like the name of that store!:p

Question:

I bought shoes at Nordstrom, Jessica Simpson Heron pumps, while I love themm, I thought they fit perfectly in the store, and then I wore them out, and they were big and hard to walk in because they were big! They got scuffed from going on the concrete. Will they return them?
