One side went in no problem, I just pinched the eyelets together and fed the pin through. The other side was a bit tougher, I did untie the straps and that made it a bit easier.
Also, the d ring does have a tiny screw, luckily I have a glasses repair kit with a screw driver that fit.

Im sorry I wasnt here for you! :hugs:(darn work the last couple days) I felt the sameway you did, I was stressed, my husband even took over to try, thats when I taped the threads, mine felt too tight too, and I felt like we were damaging the bag (thats when I taped the threads of the screw with blue painters tape so they wouldn't scratch) trying to get the one side through was un-nerving but once I got them in and ajusted the canvas they were good. I also loosened the ties a little

Thanks again for your help! I love this, so lightweight and I have several straps that work with it!
