No branded jewelry!

I own very few branded items, outside of watches. Like someone said above, most of my complimented items are the non-branded things. I did get a huge group of coos and raves over my (now 6) stack of VCA Vintage Alhambra bracelets. Lots of squeals, oohs and ahhs, questions about where I got them, which got my standard, "oh lord, I can barely remember my name or what I had for breakfast...". After all squealing, trying on, and discussion was through, I think they finally decided I must have gotten them at either
Ann Taylor or Banana Republic. And I politely thanked them for helping me remember where they must have come from. Someone there even wrote it down for me so I wouldn't forget again, lol.

So yeah, I'm pretty much sticking with non-branded, unless it's Temple St. Clair or Reinstein/Ross. Or something else restricter and Winky insist I have to have. I seem to have a gift for making everything else look like costume.

I have a mix, but prefer non-branded jewelry. When I see the drawers full of jewelry in little plastic pouches at Tiffany, it kind of drives the point home that this is mass-produced, mass-marketed good that are sold in malls throughout the world. I much prefer jewelry that's more artistic and original.

I have both branded and non-branded jewellery.

Branded jewellery: Tiffany RTT Heart Lock pendant & Cartier YG Love Bangle - self purchased

Non-branded: diamond studs, diamond pendant & diamond ring - all gifts from my mother

I would only buy a branded piece of jewellery if I really loved it and could not get that design anywhere else :smile1:

I know what you mean.

I still love Tiffany & Co. but if I buy anything else from them, it will not be sterling silver.

It is going to be 18k yellow gold - mini bow, I'm looking at you! :giggles:

Aside from watchmaker watches, I much prefer non-branded jewelry - simply because I refuse to wear logos (I'm talking to you, Chanel). It's like buying a car and having the dealer's logo emblazoned on the hood.

Then again, I avoid anything that's been overdone to death:Tiffany silver/open heart/bean, Cartier LOVE, Rolex, J12, etc.

I personally have decent gold and diamond jewelry....n they are absolutely NON- BRANDED.... The quality of my diamonds is awesome...I knw that...:p

I sometimes feel Brands charge a LOTTTT for their name. You can get similar designs and quality made at local jeweler depending on which part of the world you live.
Things like single diamond pendant or ring can be made easily n beautifully.

I love silver jewelry a lot (Pandora, Lagos, John Hardy). I don't know if these qualify as designer jewelry...but their bracelets are difficult to replicate with same finish...So i buy them directly as Brand... :):D
