I may be alone here but I happened upon her performance at the Tony's and didn't care for it....kind of histronic and she looked like she was starving

I was thinking that too.

I prefer an actor to inhabit the character, even on stage, not overact with exaggerated facial expressions and movements and now I can't suspend disbelief anymore.

Great voice of course.
