That's her hair. There are a few interviews where she's stated that dyeing and straightening it for roles has pretty much wrecked it. It's why she wears a lot of wigs now.
She should have done it the other way around - worn the wigs earlier and saved her hair - which if you look at her in the Australian films and mini-series BMX Bandits and Vietnam - and even Days Of Thunder, was fairly tightly curled.

Curls can change, my hair texture changed with each pregnancy and my age.
I don’t know what’s worse: her hair or the overly-botoxed forehead. She should’ve left well enough alone.
At the screening of Bombshell pics- are her daughters with her? They have to be her kids, they look exactly like her. Cute girls!
