Hi to all H gurus,

Firstly, I hope this is the right thread to post my questions, if not, please accept my apologies.

I need your advise urgently! I am now on a business trip in Malaysia, and came across this fabulous bag store (unfortunately it is not Hermes boutique) which carries several premium brands such as Balenciaga, Chanel, LV and Hermes. I saw in the display 2 birkins and without much hesitation charged in and asked to see it...even held it. It looked like a 30 togo to me but the SA told me its a 35 clemence rouge ghw while the other is the clemence in blue phw. The former asking price is RM45,000 while the latter is RM42,000 after discount.

Here's my problem:

1. Since i am a newbie, so i am not able to tell the authenticity of the bag and I am skeptical as this is not Hermes boutique while the asking price is RM45,000 (They told me they had the full packaging....dustbag, boxes and all)

2. I am unsure of the current price range for a 30/35 birkin in clemence or togo with GHW or PHW

Is it worth getting it here? Please advise. Will be here for another 3 days. I so want to own one but need to check with TPFers first. What's your say?

Just based on this fact, DON'T BUY IT.

Good deal or not, since you aren't sure of authenticity, the safest bet is either through a recommended reseller or the store itself. No deal is worth the hassle and the worry that you may inadvertently get a fake.

And the price is ridiculous. For less than what they're quoting you, you can get an authentic one from one of the Japanese H stores. That will definitely come with a guarantee of authenticity.

Thanks for the advice. My thoughts the same as I weren't confident enough to buy it off elsewhere and at that price I really would require a guarantee if it is the real deal!

I'm a super newbie. I live in NYC. I'm pretty sure of what I want (30cm birkin in pink,phw. leather type is whatever). I really don't want to be buying a lot of things I neither want nor "need" just to get to my birkin. Is there an easier way?

Get it from a Japanese reseller like l'ecrin...it is easier and you said you want easier. Hope that you get it easily. However , you will pay a premium.
