I am slightly, only slightly miffed, that I was overcharged by $40... Though not worth schlepping back to the city for a credit. The gave me the "post price increase" cost even though ticket was pre increase. Lesson to all, check tags scrupiously.
I found on one thing that the "real" price was higher than the price on the paper tag, so the 40% off was not quite what I expected, but that was on lower priced items, so it meant only a couple dollar difference. Sorry your experience was more expensive.

Agreed, although my reason for saying this is sort of opposite yours. For some reason, when I got the black loafers I thought they were $570. I'm not even sure how I missed the big slash through that number on the box. Did I think it was an overly enthusiastic dash through the 7? Between the frenzy of the environment and my habit of never paying attention when a cashier tells me my total, apparently I missed that the shoes were an extra $200 off.

Either way, I echo olive's advice: Check tags and check your receipt.

sdsurfchick - Thank you! I really wanted to wear it with a white blouse today but it was just too cold. I opted for a camel-colored cableknit cashmere (consonance overload!) sweater. If I venture out today, Marquis de Lafayette will compliment it nicely.

Hi! If you ladies don't mind me asking, were there any twilly rings or charms there? When I bought my first H-item this summer (a twilly), The SA showed me the rings, but at the time I didn't want them... Now I wish I would've gotten them.
I'm no where near NYC and I know they don't take phone orders or anything, this is strictly out of curiosity. Did they have any rings or charms there, and their approx. prices?

Thank you so much in advance!

^^ the old ones - in plastic - looks like a mini chaine d'ancre for 54 for set of three. Only the teal, pink, green combo left as of yesterday. Black, white and red was no longer there.

PurseX, I was there on the first day and they had tons of your items of interest. The twilly rings were $57 plus tax; as of yesterday there were some pastel colored ones. Sorry, I don't know about the charms.

Thanks! Hahaha, I won't be going to this sale, but I might convince my mom to take me there or stop by... she's always in new york due to buisness at this time of the year. I guess I'd have to go the first couple days to get what I want.

Thanks again for all the responces!

They did the same thing to me on my Paris Bombay but I was overcharged by $170. I was waiting for the elevator when I caught the mistake.

I heard there were worse mistakes during the David Yurman sale -- 229% sales tax.

Olive, you should contact the corporate offices. The phone number is on the receipt. NYS law is pretty clear about this and I doubt H would want to be accused of "bait and switch" tactics.

I gave in and went today. I got the FP one too in a baby blue for my mum. also Marquis de lafayette, De passage a New York in black white and gold and one other one Selle du apparat du morracaine in blue/green. Also Kelly en caleche smellies at 75% off and 24 perfume 75% off too. The scarf collection was pretty much the same as what they had in March. Still fun day!!

Thanks restricter, will give it a shot since the call is free!

I'm so tempted to try to go to the sale tomorrow but will resist. There's always next spring.

For the sake if sharing, i'd like to pre-reveal my goodies since I can't load a pic now.

pm ebene picotin barenia w/ orange lining
bolduc twilly in orange, offwhite, etc
carousel horse charm in phw
2 large ghw enamels in the ecritures(?) pattern (Hermes Paris in small script) one in black and the other in lilac
beaver charm (yay!)

I did see the ano cuff, contemplated but let it go and karma helped it end up with restricter

the scarfs were off the charts but I did not let myself near them for fear of temptation...
Kelly caleche perfume box set

I finally made it to the sale today. capulet and I got there a little after 9. It wasn't at all crowded at that time. I went right for the scarves because I wanted a Chevaux Qataris. I tried several different colorways and decided on this pretty blue one:

Then I went to leather goods and after looking around a while, I found this Vespa PM in Prune suede with palladium hardware. I love it!

After the sale we had lunch then went uptown to Hermes Madison Ave, Bergdorf's Hermes counter, and met up with Mid at BV.

We had gelato at GCT then made our way home. It was a very enjoyable day, and capulet and Mid are delightful company!!
