In theory the Hamilton is larger, but my sister in law sure stuffs more items in her medium Selma than I can get in a east/west Hamilton. I have 2, one of which I haven't used, primarily because of how small it is.

Probably because of the zipper on the Selma. With a zipper, you can stuff more things into the bag than if you didn't have the zipper. I imagine with the e/w Hamilton that the open top prevents that.

It would probably be better if the sides weren't gathered. If I take the lock off to widen the bag, I would have more room, but then the bag would look odd. Lol

Yes, the gathering on the sides of the Hamilton take up some space. At times, I've taken the lock off my n/s Hamilton, released the belt, and then put the lock right back on the hook, and it doesn't look bad at all. You can nest the belt ends underneath the short handles when they're upright.

Hey there. I'm yet to see the bag at any department stores. I'm beginning to get sad. I guess I'll have to get it at MK. Has anybody seen it anywhere else or have any intel. Thanks

Yes, the gathering on the sides of the Hamilton take up some space. At times, I've taken the lock off my n/s Hamilton, released the belt, and then put the lock right back on the hook, and it doesn't look bad at all. You can nest the belt ends underneath the short handles when they're upright.

I love that it gives you some different options for carrying the bag. It really looks surprisingly good with the belt released.
