new ring too big

If yu have a finger mate on your ring now, in order to get it over your knuckles, then
sizing balls at 4 and 8 (in the circle as like a clock) are the idea solution. A good jeweler should only charge you around $75 dollars and it will keep you stone centered
rather than slipping sideways.
Worked for me!

Unless there was any special process needed for a finger mate ring, the cost of getting the sizing balls should be much cheaper. My husband's jeweler put sizing balls in 3 of my rings and resized a 4th, all for $50.

ok great.. where do I get butterfly clips? Are they what Jasper posted.. they arent permenantly in though are they? The ring size is appropriate, maybe it needs a tad bit smaller, but I think the clips will be better.. since I can remove it in the summer when my hands swell. In the winter or actually now in the fall, my finger is thinner, and the ring is moving to the side, where it didn't do that in the summer.

It's not a butterfly clip. Sorry if i made your misunderstand. It's actually a piece of gold that's soldered (attatched) onto the inside of my band. I LOVVVVVE my ring right now...it's not doing that stupid twisty thing anymore. I could type and do everything with comfort unlike before.

So, you don't have to get it resized. However, b/c of the convenience of that piece, it costs more than getting it resized. Getting it resized would have cost me $40, but the butterfly thing on the inside cost $80 to get done.

Here's a (not so good) visual of the ring i took with my camera phone:
Do you see how depicts a butterfly's wing, meaning it could get smaller or larger? Well, it doesn't do that by itself but i could bring it to my jeweler when the ring gets looser, and he would just simply use a pair of tweezers to close that part in.

Thanks ladies..
when I showed my jewler my ring and how it was on my finger, she said the ring was too big for me. When I got frustrated with it moving all the time, I used to wear the ring a bit lower than my knuckle, where it was snug and it would stay nicely. I think the resize will be good. I will let you know in a week when I get it back.
