Weird-It must be like that Fabric that Dior used awhile back for their metallic bags-looked so pretty but every fingernail and dot of liquid leaves a mark and makes the nap of the fabric lay down-Wonder why the website says "SHINY CALFSKIN"??? I was hoping that it was like Chanels Shiny Metallics-Love those!

I just got a pencil in the metallic black, and I have to say the leather is very different than other bal bags - is is very thin and papery. It doesn't have much nap to it - it is a muted gray/black metallic. I think it is beautiful with GGH, but that's just my opinion. It does feel a little weird - not very leatherlike. I may keep the pencil, but I'm not sure I would want a city made of this, just because of the thin, papery feel. It is very lightweight, and doesn't appear that the shine will wear off very easily. I'll try to post pics later.
Very interestingI think I have this on another bag-almost feels like a flat nap fabric and scratches very easily. I did get my Cith GSH and it is a little on the small size for me and one coming in raisin so think I will pass on the LE edition of this city -thanks for being the first to check it out for us!!!
Thanks for further clarifying the colour. I couldn't quite figure it out from its online picture. Describing it as a "muted gray/black metallic" is now clearer to me.
My Pencil Tempete has thinner leather also and I like it that way but my Tempete City has really nice leather that isn't thin but not too thick either. Maybe the city in the metallic black would be thicker than the pencil.
That's interesting, I wonder if they make the leather on a pencil thinner on purpose so it's super flexible/smooshie to conform to whatever you put inside it, and not take up extra room in your pocketbook. Now I want a regular leather pencil!
