My first reaction is sadness they are not adding lapis earrings. I would buy them over Alhambra. Second reaction is on the pricing. Confused by the pricing of the hoops and the diamond earrings. Seems high compared to other or past pieces. Pass for me…

Not really impressed with this collection. I think the prices on the hoops are ridiculous. I would have bought them at the old price plus a couple hundred. And wow, $30k for those oval pave earrings?!!! They don’t even compare to all the other VCA diamond earrings, in my opinion. I’d rather have Frivole, Lotus, Cosmos, and Magic Alhambra over those any day.
My opinion without seeing actual pieces:
- watches look rather boring. Not excited at all by any of them, even the bottom ones, they would look like two blobs on the wrist in closed state.
- hoops are ridiculously priced unless large model can reach shoulders! But even in that case it's like hmmmm no...
- diamond pave earrings are a big no unless they are big and shiny but even in that case to me design is questionable.
- non precious stone rings need to be seen in person IMHO.
- 5 row rings MAY look interesting. If the rubies and emeralds are sufficiently bright, these could look quite stunning. I would definitely have a look.
- lapis and coral pieces have to be seen in person but seems like they will be very rare and offered only to limited clients...

Do you remember what the old price of the hoops used to be? I wonder why the big jump in price. I totally agree I’d rather spend on the other collections than those oval pavè ones at that price!
I agree with everything you said. I’m only visually interested in the 5 row rings, hopefully we can see some IRL modshots of these pieces being worn soon!

. However..... there isn't anything there which is pulling at my heart or mind at the moment. I will add I am a bit sad there're so few wg and rg options. The lapis Perlee colours open bangle will be nice (I liked the wg turquoise one back when I tried it) and I think some of the colourful rings will add some needed colourful ring options to Van Cleef fine jewelry collections. These designs give me a bit of an old-school vibe as well. That is not a bad thing if that is your preference. These are a more specific release: I dont think this is aimed to appeal to the mass market where ever IGer is posting it (a la Alhambra), and rather, they may be more likely to be added by those who are at a point of refining and filling pockets to their already developed jewelry collection.

The hoops last price were $2895, then right before being dced they were going to $2995 That's a 1k jump! I think they debuted around $2400 or so. I will admit the hoops look great with the magic pendant as they match the bale perfectly. Cartier clash hoops also go very well!
I spoke to someone at VCA and apparently many people wanted to SO them, so they brought them back out with a huge increase. I am sure they will move though because of the price point . I like the rings with gemstones, but not enoigh to have them on my Wishlist.
I agree with Glamourbag, old school and not a bad thing at all and maybe they are trying to move beyond Alhambra as it is all over SM.

I WANT to love the open bangle. If it fit PERFECTLY on my bony-a$$ wrist (13.5 cm) like a tight cuff I would be tempted. But I have a snowball’s chance in hell of that ever happening. I still love the small hoops even at the higher price and even though I’ve bought them twice and let them go twice. ***sigh***. And I like the rings with the solid stone. But I don’t need anymore rings. I will be happy to try them all before deciding for sure. VCA always manages to surprise me.
I love the open bangle also, but I tried the currently available ones (I have always loved the pave/coleurs combo items), bit they are way too huge on me, so they would be on you as well, unfortunately.
Like others, the 5 row ring is the main one speaking to me from this collection. Does the pricing on the sapphire seem like a mistake? It is so much lower than the others.
