New Neverful MM - what should I get with the bag ??

The shipping from the LV website has been known to be...um...inconsistent for the lack of a better word unlike the service offered in-store. It's not surprising nor unusual that the box wasn't wrapped with a leather cord or ribbon (it's considered an added feature and is usually, but not always, offered to in-store purchases) as that's at the discretion of the SA who packaged up your order. It's also disappointing to hear that the box was damaged a bit but as long as it wasn't your NF then it's fine; it's just the packaging and, although greater care should have been taken, it's unwise to store your bag inside as it prevents air circulation. They're minor details but can still sour the unboxing experience when you were expecting something else.
No, LV never offers any proof of authenticity, regardless whether you purchased online or in-store, with the mindset that since you're buying directly from them then the authenticity is a certainty. For cards there's one with a barcode and another with a materials list (i.e. coated canvas, treated leather, etc.) - none are meant for authenticity purposes - and those are often found in one of the bag's pockets...it's normal for the SA, regardless of method of purchase, to remove those when the bag is being wrapped up. What's important is that you received the receipt and a return form.
For your bag itself; that overlapping portion, and subsequent bump, on the top is normal and is designed that way for extra reinforcement for the trim's edges. Without it the trim would be exposed to more wear and tear which could cause the stitching to pop and the leather to unravel. It's also a bit wrinkly because of how the bag was stored during shipment - again this is normal and is actually a sign of healthy leather; if there's wrinkling then it means that the leather has been well-tanned and properly conditioned (it will wrinkle more over time so don't worry) whereas cracking is an indication that the leather is too dry or wasn't supple enough to withstand normal use/manipulation. The creased canvas is also a byproduct of the bag being folded during shipment and will relax with time and use.

Overall it sounds like you're happy with the bag but dissatisfied with the experience. The only thing I could recommend is calling LV and bringing it to their attention by letting them know how you feel and where you think improvements can be made - LV has been listening closely to customer feedback lately. Other than that, congratulations on your beautiful new treasure!

It's not the Rose Ballerine but I wanted to show you that I have some wrinkling around the top of my bag as well. I barely carried it. But it's because the darker leather is treated where the Vachetta leather on monogram bags is not. So it'll tend to wrinkle a bit. I would take it to an LV boutique and exchange for one that may have less wrinkling. I think you'll be able to find one. But over time, it will happen. Best of luck to you. Hope this helped!

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I am still torn.... it's not horrible, horrible and I almost feel like the bag is "mine" now. I love it and if the wrinkling is going to happen eventually don't know if it's worth the effort. But on the other hand, I paid a lot for the bag and it should be pretty close to perfect.

I may go into LV Vancouver on Monday and take a look. I will let you know what I decide!

Okay, so I just received my Damier Ebene with Rose Ballerine and I love, love, love the bag. It is so pretty and I am happy with my choice.

However... a few things that make me less than happy. The brown box wasn't wrapped with anything - cord, ribbon, plastic, nothing. It looked like the top didn't fit the bottom properly because it was kind of jammed on and because of that two corners were completely ripped. Small thing, I know, but not what I was expecting. When I opened the box it also had a weird chemical smell, which fortunately disappeared right away, but not expecting that. Also, I've seen reveals on YouTube and it looks like there should be cards in the inside pocket. I have the receipt and return information in the brown envelope, but that is it. Should I have more than that? Authentication cards or something?

The brown leather trim around top of bag isn't perfect and flat all the way around. It's a bit gathered in one spot. Hoping you can see in pic.View attachment 3432371

And because of the way the bag was packed the sides seemed creased, deeply creased in a couple spots. But that will come out over time, right? I have towels in the bag right now hoping that will help.

But other than that..... so pretty with the pink.

You should return it, I have a 3 years old DE and is not as wrinkled as ur new one.. Its pricey, get a perfect one.. And it will be aging along with enjoyment!

Dear Koolforkatz,

Congratulations for your brand new neverfull! I like it very much and it is on my wish list :)

However, my opinion is, if you are not 100% happy with the product, then don't take it.

I recently bought something from online and it had an obvious flaw. I returned back, asking money back, but they surprisingly sent me a replacement but again with a flaw(similar to your neverfull)... I brought it to a LV shop and an SA did a quality assessment. He recommended me to return back. He was shocked this happened twice. I called to the LV online shop but they wanted me to take it, but I asked for money back. Afterward I sent pics of the flaw part and they were finally convinced.

Through my experience I realized communication with online shop is rather difficult than face-to-face in the shop. I like online shop because it is so convenient and free shipping, but I will try to reduce using it but buy in a shop so that I can check products before buying :D

As promised, my follow up - so I went into the Vancouver LV store today to exchange my bag. I took a look at several other bags to compare them all and finally found one that was about 99% perfect. I am so happy I decided to go into the store and based on my experience will likely never buy online again. The sales associate was super helpful and nice and showed me several DE's with the RB lining. She packed up my new bag in a much nicer box, wrapped it in ribbon and then placed it in a big brown LV bag. I am so glad I decided to make the effort and go into the store. An all around much nicer shopping experience, and I have a pretty much perfect bag now.

And I took my dog, Jack, a beautiful, mini labradoodle, in the store with me and everyone loved him and fawned all over him. They even brought him out a bowl of water :) Happy, happy, happy!!!!

That is awesome!! I'm' glad you were able to find a better one. And moreover, glad you were able to have a great shopping experience. Please post pics!!!!![emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
