Last week, when I was in the Americana LV, i had the opportunity to smell this and at first it came off to me as a bathroom deodorizer. I tried this one and California Dreams and loved California Dreams more so I added that one to my collection. However, the dry down of City of Stars came in wonderfully and now kind of regret not getting it. I also found it surprising that none of my SAs never offer me LV perfume samples despite me buying other stuff. I'm gonna have to inquire next time I go in for some samples.

I'm really close to my CA but he never offers either unless I ask. I get it tho. I see him regularly so it doesn't make sense for him to keep giving me samples.

Hello! I purchased this perfume a few days ago blindly. Its just not for me. I Like some citrus bt this one doesnt smell great on me for some reason. Does anyone know how I can sell this perfume since I cant return it? or know anyone who is interested?

I really enjoy this one. A similar fragrance is Tom Ford’s Soliel Blanc. It’s that coconutty scent with a tuberose/gardenia type white floral. City of Stars opens with lime so that’s really different and I love it.
I love your detailed description. I could never get the scents straight. I ask my CA for the notes.

Haha! I’m on Fragrantica a lot! I’m also a fragrance fan and have a sizable collection. Maison Martin Margiela’s Beach Walk has similar notes but different vibe. It’s saltier and definitely more beachy. You can compare the 3 for yourself. I have both Soliel Blanc, Beach Walk and am contemplating City of Stars. I prefer Soliel Blanc to Beach Walk bec it’s more well rounded and heady with tuberose whereas Beach Walk is heliotrope based. City of Stars’ top notes are like a nice summer citrus limeade and then melds into the tiare. I wish the lime lasted longer. I like that it’s not overly coconutty, which comes across as more refined. I’m sure since it’s a French perfume master’s creation…it can’t be overly tropical. That’s very not French and just a bit too American, even for a fragrance that’s an ode to LA!
