New floor set: crossed again with Crossgrain

So just googled it. Cross hatched is the same as saffiano? Does that sound right?

But is cross hatched the same as cross grain?

Either way, I don't like it.

I do have 2 saffiano totes because I loved the color/pattern and I thought they'd be great for rainy days when I didn't want to carry bags of nice leather.

I have one tote in cross grain, and I use it on rainy days (had a lot of those this summer!). I would prefer saffiano and really loved the pebbled leather on the tatum tote. I really don't understand all of the cross grain.

I like my saffiano MK better than the crossgrain personally

I agree.

I think Saffiano holds it shape more. Crossgrain seems thinner and floppier.

I have one saffiano bag. I think it is perfect for travel and bad weather. It wears like iron. I don't want an entire closet of it. I enjoy the feel and smell of real leather too much.

I agree with this comparison. I also agree on the last part, i do like having a Saffiano option but i don't want the entire collection in it.

More Crossgrain, seriously? Enough said...

Amen! :yucky:

Most of the styles are really boring to me. There aren't any true shoulder bags.

I like whiplash but they only did it on the largest bags, which I can't use. I like the army green color.

I wonder when the Fall Preview stuff is coming out. That should be an improvement.

I REALLY like the whiplash with the green, but like you, the bags are too big for me.

One of the reasons I hate crossgrain is because I feel cheated when they are using it to save money but charge just as much for it. A SA at the outlet told me people like it because it is easy care. I can't even tell it is leather.

I second that. The saffiano and cross grains may be real leather, but they just don't look and smell like it.

LOL. I totally agree, Nymeria. Too much crossgrain!!!!!! I'm bored. :nogood:

BUT I do agree that the whiplash are gorgeous (yes, in the green, whateve - so pretty!) and I do love the Empire Carryall with the rivets in both the pink and the surplus colors. And I like the cute wild beast edie.

I like rivets a lot, but I'm going to stay away from those. They call them 'lacquer rivets'
and that sounds too much like they might have a lacquer on them that might chip off. :amazed:

For the most part, the cross grain is just not my style. I really prefer the smushy thick, pebbly FP Madison-type leather, or smooth leather, like the leather on the original Kristin double zip satchels and my Legacy Harper and Romy.
That being said, I think the cross grain worked well with the floral prints of the winter and spring collections. I really like the winter floral bags I have, and I adore my little rose gold Nolita 19 wristlet...the cross grain really makes the color come to life.
I don't like that most bags are cross grain. The Nolita satchel had possibilities....if only it were NOT the effing cross grain. I loved the pink color, but not the leather itself.
I'm hoping the Nomad hobo looks as yummy and smooth in person as it does in pictures. If it does, and if it feels good, I will definitely be getting one in that beautiful green.
