At first I couldn't see any difference and then after much staring (not hard to do as it's gorgeous) I think I see a slight difference, after you mentioned the halo is different and the space between it and the solitaire, but just like Greentea and baglover1973, I think it's an improvement.

It's a really gorgeous ring and it's totally understandable to feel wistful for the way it was originally since you had no issue with it and fell in love with it that way, but it really looks as gorgeous as before, if not more this way.

I see a little more airline but I really REALLY had to look. I am sad to say though, that is not a "wear it everyday and use your hands" kind of ring, so you might experience melee loss and loose stones more frequently than you want.

Even though it seems the same to others, how much does it bother you? You have to live with it and love it. What options/choices do you have now after the redo? Can anything be done if you are not satisfied?

I see a VERY slight difference after going back and forth several times. I like the new setting better...and if the stone is more secure, isn't that a good thing? ;)

Show is more side/profile pics.

At first glance I can see more super teeny weeny space between the halo and the diamond. Is it because it's set differently than before?

saligator -It didn't bother me at first even though i noticed the small differences, until one of my closest friends who knew I had to have it reset mentioned that "Oh something looks strange.. i think older setting was much better!" I know might have been just a catty comment masking some jealously. I still love the ring I just wanted to know if you guys notice a huge difference ,u know? As for the jeweler she is a family friend so I know she'd accommodate me but I don't want to be a pain in her arse! Lol

missD -yes it's a completely new setting made to accommodate the stone and in order to make the prongs stronger they had to be slightly bigger.

Also thank u guys so much! I feel so much better and less crazy. I do think the settings are very similar. Now I can go back to admiring and enjoying my ring! Since I have been lurking and admiring all of the fellow tpfers rings for so long.
I'm glad that there are still some women out there that can appreciate and congratulate instead of just hate! :happy dance: 😜

Sheesh, what kind of 'friend' says the older setting was better?! She surely is jealous for planting such thoughts and raining on your good fortune. And if she's not jealous she's just out and out rude! Your ring is undeniably stunning.

Center stone is 3.5 ct round diamond brilliant cut, VVS and color E idk about how many cts the halo is. 😊

benchwarmer -I know what you mean!! Even the sweet fiancé said that maybe the comment had evil hidden agenda behind it! (To make me go cray cray!) which it did for a bit 😁

I can see a slight difference. The new setting was made with a slightly larger opening so you see a very small space between the diamond and the halo. They both look beautiful though.

Another vote for the new setting. Very subtle difference but I do think it makes center stone stand out a little more and look even more beautiful, if that's possible! Really pretty ring! I think your "friend" may be a frenimie and a little cra cra herself! Can you say jealous much?! Jeez.
