i have a 1.42 ct radiant diamond in my e-ring and while it may not face up as large as a round of the same carat weight, i  my radiant stone. princess and radiant stones do not face up as large as a round since the cut requires it to be deeper in order to maximize its brilliance. but i have always loved radiant stones for the fact that they are not as common, do not have the sharp corners of a princess, and give the sparkle of a round. if u love your stone and your ring, keep it cuz it makes u happy, but if u think u would love something else, or something that appears bigger, go for that. don't let the store pressure u into picking from the few stones they are shipping in for u, either, cuz in the end, u have to pay for it and live with it! good luck :)

Thank you all for so much info. The store that we got this stone from is Ross Simons and we are asking to see two more stones. One is a 3ct round the other is a 3 ct cushion. The store is not very easy to work with as they do not have loose stones in the store. They send for them and complain the it is costs them a few hundred dollars each time. They only allow me two stones at a time. The salespeaple are nice but, I need to be sure and not feel like I am causing them more trouble then its worth. I think if one of the two that are coming in are not IT I will go else where. Wish me luck!

wow. it doesn't seem like customer service is their first priority, imo. i don't know, are they the only reputable jeweler in town where you live? it doesn't seem like they're willing to be patient with you considering you're spending quite a bit of money on this special ring, and from what you describe, they're quick to make a sale, but not satisfy their customer's needs.

that would annoy me. i'm sorry, but i think i would be looking elsewhere.

regardless of what you decide, i wish you the best of luck. please post your final ring so we can all share your joy.

You may consider converting it into a 3-stone diamond ring with 2 smaller diamond stones on its either side.

But in the pictures it doesn't look like a 3.54 carat diamond. May be it could just be in the pictures and not in-fact!
