pmburk’s response is correct! I don’t think the weather in Minnesota will harm the canvas, but you also want to make sure you don’t leave your bag in an area that is too cold or too hot. For example, inside a car in the summer or winter. Drastic changes in temperature can cause cracking over time.Aren't both DE and Mono canvas? Why is one better for all weather conditions? Obviously, I'm not LV literate. However I'm considering a NF so beginning to investigate. Also, would cold Minnesota winters cause LV canvas to crack? Esp if cinched and uncinched? TIA
SDfromND - I grew up in FM! Brrrrrr, it's cold and windy. What Pmburk said ^ and I live in ND and have no issues with cracked canvas![]()
I was told the same but I know my previous DE pieces had shiny finish and my new DE pieces have new softer leather. In fact, I bought a speedy 30b in March when the changes were happening, my strap came with two parts that are new leather and the middle part was made out of the old leather. I hadn’t had a chance to go to boutique until last week and when I showed it to them they said they don’t know what I’m talking about and it looks the same. They took pictures for their quality control. She said to me the same that they haven’t not changed the leather when in actuality I had a proof of the change in my hand in front of her. If you guys want to see the strap, I can take a few pictures for youI actually contacted LV about this matter and they told me no changes had been made to the leather trimmings on DE canvas pieces.
It sure is! The wind never ends here but we have the Bison so it’s worth it - Ha! I can say that today because the real cold hasn’t hit - yet!!SDfromND - I grew up in FM! Brrrrrr, it's cold and windy.

Question ladies. How do we prevent cracking on lv purses. I already have a crack on my delightful. So sad but I want to prevent any further from happening
Im sorry if I posted the wrong comment just learning about this forum
are both of your bags Damier ebene print?I bought a neverfull damier ebene gm knowing that it may Crack, but I'm going to love this bag and use it as much as possible at least the first year( when they are more likely to fix it). I hardly used my delightful and have a crack as well, so I'm enjoying my purchases and not worrying about it so much anymore. I don't have a disposable income at all and save save save. I'm just meaning I'm going to use my things way more with this purchase.
monogram is much more well known, I agree, for the first LV bag, go for mono. Why? Did you know that DE was the original print? Monogram came later.
This is exactly what I was thinking too. I actually just purchase my first Neverfull monogram (beige interior) and it arrived just few days ago on Dec 12. After examining it I saw a tiny white spot (size of the tip of a ballpoint pen mark) and there were some fuzzy hair coming out. I don't mind it being a tiny mark but should I be concern? Will this mark enlarge as time passes by? I'm honestly shy to walk inside an LV store that's why I decided to purchase it via LV online website.monogram is much more well known, I agree, for the first LV bag, go for mono.![]()
Congrats on your first Neverfull,This is exactly what I was thinking too. I actually just purchase my first Neverfull monogram (beige interior) and it arrived just few days ago on Dec 12. Secondly, I saw within the interior that maybe 2-3 tiny thread ball like sticking out (is this okay?)
It's my first purchase and I'm not sure if little things like that are normal....due to being it wear and tear as I would use the bag anyway....
After reading numerous forum threads and watching YouTube videos reviewing about mono vs. Ebene.....I'm scared of water staining the straps.
As far as the canvas it feels dented and seems stiff. I had inserted a pillow and been letting it sit in the living room.
I am debating whether I should exchange it for the damier ebene print.....
Decisions....decisions, decisions
Or perhaps just return the bag for refund >__<
Congrats on your first Neverfull,
But I don't quite get what you described as tiny mark and fuzzy hair, it's probably the best for you to bring it to the store have them look it over if that concerns you.
Frankly, if you are going to keep one forever, I like mono, if you think of reselling it after several years of using, then damier ebene probably don't show wear easily (that's one of the reasons I prefer to buy Damier ebene from the store because can't tell how much wear on the damier ebene from the pictures online)
depends on the weather too, if you uses it everyday, several months?Thank you for the adviceI think I will choose to keep the NFL monogram. Can I ask how long of usage when I would see the canvas soften up and with the patina begin to start darken? I'm afraid I might baby it and just put it up for display only rather trying to be some usage to it....
Hi! I’m new to this forum and just got a Neverfull MM DE. Do you know if I am supposed to treat the leather on this bag? I read a lot of people using the apple spray on their leathers but didn’t know if the DE handles need that too?Yes they're both canvas, but the untreated vachetta leather trim on the monogram version will show spots & stain from any water (i.e. rain or snow). I personally do not carry any of my monogram bags on rainy days, just for this reason. Damier Ebene is considered more of an "all weather" finish since the leather is treated & won't show stains or develop patina. I hope that makes sense!![]()
