Neverfull GM as "personal item" when flying?

It's a shame that we have to suffer such a long process in order to be vetted as fit for travel, and yet we still have to worry about losing items due to theft by people who have been vetted 'fit enough' to work there.
Been wondering about using an onthego GM size? Anyone used it already for international flights?
Yes, I've read posts where people have traveled with it. But I owned one (sold it) and I didn't think it would squish enough like a NF does.
My sister has a Neverfull GM and uses it for travel. She has a rolling trolly bag as one carryon (for overhead bin) and also has a large la pliage tote that expands which she uses to place her Neverfull inside, for under the seat.
I think placing a small extra purse inside the Neverfull is a great idea!
So far she has had no questions or problems using these bags.
