mine look the same and I've had it for 4 years. Decided to leave as is and it hasn't gotten worse. I use collonil to condition it ... hoping it won't keep cracking, Just to give you an idea, my speedy b long strap is starting to show those signs as well. Kinda sucks, but I guess that's what happens with DE. Now, my neverfull DA looks beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the vachetta looks amazing! I am learning to appreciate the vachetta and learning to slowly make it age evenly and beautifully. in my experience it takes some patience. My only problem is that I am not a monogram fan so I have to stick to the DA. Like someone else said, enjoy your bag!!!!!!!

I have a monogram neverfull as well, and yes the vachetta strap is awesome. But I find myself always leaning towards the Damier print for some reason. I have the azur print in the mm size, but find myself needing more room in my bag with all the kids stuff. As u can tell, I'm a total nf girl. It's a shame LVs quality isn't the greatest. I have totes that are not luxury that are holding off so much better then this :(

I store my de gm with the straps standing straight and tied with a piece of elastic. My straps are still stiff and in great condition but I believe it's only because I don't use it very much-just car trips and overnight stays. It's about 7 years old. Kind of a waste of money on my end in my opinion. DE was so prone to cracking and damage that I took precautions when I bought it as far as use and storage. A waste. Sure is pretty to look at on a shelf though lol!!

Lol. I store my bag with straps up as well. I want to enjoy this bag and not have it sit on the shelf. I have a friend whose had her nf for 10 years. I sure do think they made them different back then. It's a shame lv's quality has decreased so much yet prices are still increasing [emoji848]

Bottom line-it is all greed. Just keep shoveling out LV with all sorts of problems, known legitimate issues. We keep right on buying, exchanging, repeat...Ball keeps rolling. Their quality control is falling through the cracks. For every one person who vows to never buy LV again, 1000 more jump on the train. My Gucci's have never had an issue. Perfect from the start and look just as good as the day I bought them. I can purchase Gucci online without worry too and not ONE return/exchange.

Has it gotten any worse? I also don't want to send bag off only to have it happen again. If it gets worse i rather wait and just pay for the strap replacement.
I bought my DE NF in 2011 and hardly used it but within a few months the straps started cracking. I took it in to the boutique and they replaced both straps for free. Unfortunately, within a few months they started cracking again! I decided to just ignore it. I've been using the bag pretty often and the straps seem pretty sturdy. I'm pretty sure it's only the surface coating that's cracking and wrinkling from normal use so I'm not worried. I also don't overload my bags and like others have posted - be careful when storing and don't bend or fold the straps over. I actually let my straps stick up outside the dustbag for the first few years until they naturally folded a bit on their own. Now I cinch the dustbag and try not to worry, :) Your bag looks perfectly normal to me. I would just use it and enjoy it!

Do u mean it happened after 10 years or it's been like this for 10 years? I don't want to replace it just to have it happen again. I don't mind leaving it and just enjoying the bag, just worried it will get worse. But if u are saying these cracks don't affect the use of the bag then I'm all for leaving it.

It happens with use, remembering within the first few years. It doesn’t help especially I tend to bend the handles downward instead of letting it stand straight up. After almost having 10 years, I don’t see any tear on the leather just glazing cracking from use (which is normal wear and tear over time) the bag is still going strong. Don’t worry about it.

Do you think leather conditioner would help avoid cracking?

I had the trim flake within 4 months of owning mine. It’s 2012. I touched up the spots with brown leather dye. It’s never gotten worse. My straps and one cinch look like their cracking. I figured I’d wait until it looks noticeable. Hopefully, by then they’ve fixed all their quality issues. My DE Speedy is perfect and it’s older. I love DE.
I hope they take care of this for you.

My 5 year old NF straps look like this. I use it as a work bag and I’m probably stuffing too much in it. I’m not worried, I figure I’ll get the straps replaced eventually (even if it costs $$). I love the bag and it’s not going to stay perfect forever, in fact I think mine is holding up amazing for 5 years of use.
