Another thread about this subject, I hope you don't mind!

I really really need help, lol! Have a hard time choosing the dial and would love to hear opinions!
My thoughts are: 36mm datejust, steel/gold, fluted bezel, oyster bracelet
For the dial:
1) white stick mark dial
2) silver stick mark dial
3) white roman dial
4) white jubilee w diamonds dial

*I've tried on the white stick mark dial with the smooth (?) bezel and I didn't like it! Thought the white was too white or it looked a little plain? Maybe with the fluted bezel it looks different?
*I've only seen the silver dial, thought that was the one, am now afraid it might look too dark?
*White roman dial, I tried the MOP and didn't like the look. Maybe it's the romans? However looking at pics I like the white with the gold roman numbers as it looks classy. They do not offer the Arabic numbers in my country.
*white jubilee dial w diamonds. I love the look of this one, just maybe it's too much going on? I've only seen it on pics and always on a Rolex with jubilee bracelet, not the oyster bracelet...

So as you can see, I'm confused now and need your opinions and maybe pics?

I was looking at the Cartier ballon bleu steel/gold and while I love that look, I started looking for the perfect Rolex. The two toned I think in the Rolex looks more... Well more two toned actually.
The Cartier ballon bleu is also very nice in the steel option. So that's how I'm here now ;-)

For your first Rolex, I would go with either romans or a diamond dial. I would not do diamonds on the white dial. Of your choices, think the white dial with gold romans is a classic look that will look great with your choice of an oyster bracelet. I chose the ss oyster for my first one, and love it. Here us a link, just for the picture, of the white roman with TT oyster; scroll tho the end. Happy hunting and post pics when you get it!

Thank you!
It's just that I really want the oyster bracelet, therefore the dial looks a little different on the total watch..?

Hi Sterre for my first Rolex I got a yachtmaster Steel & gold which has the Oyster bracelet which IMO has a sportier casual look to it I then received a SS jubilee 36mm with white dial & Roman numerals & personally I prefer the Jubilee strap but it really depends what other watches you have in your collection, you can't go wrong with any of your choices & Rolex is such a classic design that you will never get bored with. GL

Out of the choices you listed, I'd pich white Roman! So classy!

Here is my 31mm with MOP Roman face:

I love yours!! I'm just afraid it looks better with the jubilee bracelet...
I thought the stick marks could look more casual?

My other watches are a different look. A SS Rolex datejust/oyster/white jubilee dial w Arabic No from my BF, a tag heuer Monaco w black leather strap, a vacheron Constantin rose gold w brown leather strap and a SS Guess collection watch I've been wearing forever. So all completely different.

Thank you! I'm really an oyster bracelet girl, i always dress casual. Mostly skinny jeans and a top with cowboy boots or high heels. I feel the jubilee bracelet is a little dressy for me.
However I really think the dial makes te watch look so different! I really don't know yet... Why no votes for the stick marks ;-)?

i was just choosing between a Cartier BB adn rolex! lol ended up with a Rolex:) but had the same issue choosing a dial! it's so hard!

It looks very different and to me more jazzy with the fluted and Romans, compared to the smooth and sticks. It would be great if you had a chance to browse a bunch of them in person...that would certainly clarify your thoughts.

The stick (batons) dial is a little more sporty, true. Have you seen it with a black dial? That looks really cool.

Get the one that you prefer & if you find once you have the watch you don't like the dial you can have it changed & that's exactly what I did about a year after I got my date just I had the dial replaced from the white to the pink flower dial & if you have it done before the watch is 2 years old Rolex don't charge for a service & they gave me back the old dial incase I ever want the white one put back in.

Which one did you choose? And between which Cartier BB? i hope you don't mind me asking. My SA said there are many people who choose between those two watches... most of them end up with a rolex ;-)

That is a safe thought... How much is a new dial if you buy it seperately? I wish the rolex dealers overhere would have more on display to try on!
When we went to look, i was lucky that there was someone who took the time for me and had the bracelets changed and all. However the dial is another story.
