Neiman Marcus requires that you have Chanel purchase history from inside NM. Stand-alone Boutique purchases don’t count. I experienced this last year. However, you *can* purchase Chanel shoes from NM without a purchase history.

What you can do is contact a boutique SA (perhaps the one you bought the shoes from?) and have them remote send the item to you.

Alternatively, if you have the ref number for the item, call customer service. They can send your request to a store and an SA reaches out to you. I’ve done this at least 5 times successfully.

Yes. This. NM C requires you to purchase in that particular store to have items shipped. At least that’s how my NM works.

I don't live near a Chanel and my only purchase so far has been a pair of Chanel heels.
I was at a neiman Marcus with a Chanel counter and asked about some small leather goods that are shown online but not in stock at that store.
The sales associate told me that I need to have a bag purchase history in order to do any phone orders or to have an item from another location shipped to me.
Is this accurate?
I found that quite annoying and pretentious ; I'm not interested in a Chanel bag right now & I prefer a different color item to what was in store.

I'm very surprised by this. I purchased shoes from a standalone boutique but ended up returning them. I purchased my first bag from NM C. I didn't think I would be able to purchase a bag over the phone but they said that I could do so bc I was in the system. This was in 2021 so I don't know if things changed since then but it might be possible different locations have diff policies? It was my understanding though that as long as you had a purchase history with any Chanel and made a purchase with the department store you were able to make a purchase. So for example you have to have a purchase history with Chanel and with NM or with a Chanel in NM. Perhaps you can try another location?

If you have history at a Chanel boutique you can have them ship it to you. You can chat or call Chanel’s customers service line through their website. They’ll help you find it.

Things have changed since 2021. They were allowing people with no history to purchase remotely in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid restrictions. Now you have to make a purchase in person first now if you want something from a Chanel in Saks you need history buying Chanel from Saks. Same for boutique or NM.
