Do you ladies know if I can spray the apple guard on the beechwood ? I am still trying to make a choice . Lol thanks for all your input !

Absolutely, and I wouldn't carry a light-colored bag without first treating it with Apple Rain Guarde. It protects the bag from water damage but I also think that it may help protect it from dirt and even color transfer - but I don't know that for sure - just my opinion.

I don't have the Beechwood Mercer bag but I recently gave my new Grey Birch Willow Floral Nomad two applications of Apple Guarde and it was fine, and I have treated other light-colored bags like my Putty Sophia without any problems.

Have you used Apple Rain Guarde before? I order it on Amazon. It's an aerosol so you should apply it in a well-ventilated area. If the weather is warm I take it outside to spray it and during cold weather I hang the bag in the bathroom and turn on the fan. I thoroughly spray the bag, then wait a half-hour and give it a second treatment. It doesn't seem to have any affect the bag at all but I always wipe down the hardware with a damp cloth after spraying a bag - just to be safe.

Here's a link to an old post when I put the Apple Garde to the test and was very glad that I had used it to protect a very delicate, natural, straw coach bag, my Bonnie Convertible Tote. The bag is made of straw but it's very finely woven, more like linen, and she cleaned up beautifully thanks to Apple Rain Garde!

This is so helpful! Thankyou so much ! My fear of a light bag has held me back.

Does anyone ever buy 2 of the same bag different colors lol!

Yes, many of us do. Usually it helps to make sure you love the style first.

Absolutely, I have many multiples of the same bag/line and the last 2 bags that I bought are both Nomads and I am very pleased with my purchases (and one is carmine and the other so grey birch, so they were similar to your choices!) but just a word of caution.

You might want to pick just one bag of that style first, especially since you are buying online. Give yourself a chance to try it out and make sure that you love the size, style, texture, configuration, capacity, and the way it makes you feels when you carry it, before committing to 2 very similar bags.

I've been surprised in the past by bags that I was sure I would love from the pictures, but they just didn't work for me when I examined them in real life. One time I actually drove to another state to find my perfect dream bag - but I had to walk away and leave it behind! I made sure that I loved the carmine Nomad before I bought one in grey birch.

And I now try to refrain from purchasing multiples although I am not always successful! I've found that after the excitement of the new bags is over and I see a similar bag in a new style that I love and want, I have to tell myself "You already have a hobo (satchel, clutch, hippie, etc.) in a similar size and color so you shouldn't buy this one too!" So I now try to be more selective about my bag purchases, but again, I sometimes give in to temptation! Good luck!

Exactly! I've gone overboard on multiples in the past so now, no matter how much I love a style, I try to limit myself to 2. At one time I had 6 Sophias and 6 Legacy duffles.

I have lots of Kristen and Madison bags and I don't wear them very often anymore. I should get rid of them.

Just wanted to update all you ladies. I really appreciate all the input. I decided to get the nomad in the beechwood color. Then the mercer in carmine for a good pop of color. I really love both colors but didn't want two of same bags so I feel like this is a good solution. So now can I treat the beechwood nomad and use rain and stain on it ?

Excellent decision! You can absolutely apply Apple Rain Garde to the beechwood Nomad and you might also want to apply it to the carmine mercer, too!
