I started this thread because I could use some advice on the fakes I own. I live in the UK by the way. :smile1:

I bought a couple of fake Prada's a few years ago and now I want to get rid of them because I am very happy with my real designer bags :D

Thing is, I have no idea HOW to get rid of them. They are extremely good quality, so I wouldn't just want to bin them. I can't donate them as they have logos. And I obviously can't sell them because I could get into trouble.

Also, I have a confession to make... The bags cost me over £100 each. Yeah, I know, expensive mistake. :shame: They are high quality replicas so that's why the price is high.
I feel angry at myself because now I have no way of even getting a little bit of money back off them

So pleaaase help me I want to rid myself of these beasts and make room for my REAL beauties

Thanks!! :hugs:

You can't sell them and you can't in good conscience gift them. Holding on to them will only make you miserable. You can't recoup your losses, so take a big deep breath, pretend they were given to you by a worthless ex, and toss them out. You'll feel better for it.

Above is an interesting approach to fake designer clothes.
Maybe write across bag lining, in permanent marker, "This is a fake." Then donate to charity or shelter?
Not sure of best answer--unless you want to contact customs office & ask for opinions?

Hope this helps.

Destroy and move forward. The notion of a "high quality replica" is a trick of marketing. Forget that, take your loss, and enjoy your real items.

Fim is right. Fakes are illegal, you have no other choice than toss them out.
That's what customs officers do when they catch fake bags, watches, toys , spare parts, medicines etc.

I have been buying prada for over 20 years ( yes I was one of the first customers in their UK Sloane street shop) IMO I have not seen a good prada fake, the stitching, quality is often poor. Purge your wardrobe of these and enjoy the real thing! 😄

You can repurpose them as craft organizers, shapers of your authentic bags or make-up bags (not sure what size/style you're talking about). Or you can remove the logos or destroy them somehow and donate them. My temptation would be just to trash them but it's more environmentally responsible to reuse them somehow.

This is what I would recommend too. Not sure what styles they are replicas of but you could easily use them for storing other stuff -- maybe loose hair stuff in the bathroom or hang it in the closet for scarves or gloves.

The manufacturing of these are unregulated so they may contain hazardous chemicals like mercury, chromium, acid dyes etc. It's best to destroy/send as waste.
