Need Help! Gucci Bag Complaint -- Poor Quality and Customer Service!

Hi, does anyone know where I can get in touch with Gucci?
I bought a bag in Rome, Italy middle of last year. And after a few uses,
the metallic finishing on one side of the leather straps started coming off!!!!!!!!

Granted, I should have taken the time to complain immediately!
But I was busy with other things and kept putting it off until I went on vacation. So I brought the bag to Hongkong, to their boutique in Causeway Bay and they kept asking for the receipt. I don't have my receipt with me.

And then they say that whether or not I have the receipt, they'll charge my HK$1,000+ for the leather strap!!!! one side of the leather strap! Which is absurd since I believe it is a factory defect.

Anyone else have similar problems?

I heard that the metallic leather is very sensitive to scratch, but have not seen peeling. I've used my Abbey cosmetic case several times and it's still in prestine condition.

Maybe they've to ship it somewhere to get it fixed so that's why it's so expensive.
 
you should be in the system and whenever ive had problems with gucci bags that ive gotten within a year or two -- my sa either has them fixed or replaces them -- actually my horsebit hobo was the only one i had problems with and it was my fault but they still replaced it!!

seriously gucci is awesome and thier customer service rocks!!!

just try another boutique and your information should be stored in the computer system!!
 
I have the same bag but in gold, and the metallic finishing on mine are still in pretty good condition. I would say go to a local Gucci boutique and have them check to see if it's a manufacturer defect. When I bought my abbey the snap botton on the strap came off on the first day I used it! So I called my SA and shipped it back to them (they even refunded the shipping that I paid for!) and sent me a brand new one. But if it's not a manufacturer defect and you still want to repair it, they will charge you a fee. If you have more than one boutique around your area, try all of them. didn't they have you in the system? the SA could have looked you up by name within the two years. I guess they couldn't locate it .
I mean why didn't you bring the reciept ? when you know they will need it to fix it?
There is no way they would fix it for free if they can't find prove you actually bought it at a gucci store.
1000 hk money isn't too bad that's $125 considering the bag will last you a life time.

Maybe they can't look up your account when you're in a different country? The Gucci in San Francisco made me start a new account even though I had one.
 
omg! that's exactly what happened to my white joy boston wherein the platinum handles started chipping off a few months back. Bought it sometime last year as well. Right now, i'm trying to contact their flagship store in beijing since that was where i bought it. I didnt know they accepted returns & exchanges as long as it passed their committees deliberation process. My friend encountered the same problem and was able to get a full refund! The only problem is i dont have the receipt anymore.

i hear they did a recall on this particular line since they are getting pretty much the same complaints for the metallic handles of the bags.
 
So recently I've noticed that the top of my gucci bag sits crooked. I believe this is a defect because I've only had the bag for 10 days. What do you think? I've heard some bad reviews about Gucci's customer service.
