Thanks everyone for sharing your opinion. Yes, the trinity bracelet would be done in yellow/white/rose gold, but very much likely in 14K gold instead of Cartier's 18K...

I'm a bit disappointed no one likes the shamballa bracelet though... This was the more meaningful piece. Bare in mind that the black onyx beads would be replaced with 9mm Tahitian pearls, I'd probably also throw in four of the black diamond beads instead of one and wouldn't overlap the beads and pearls with the macramé cord, like they've done here :

I guess one has to like pearl bracelets in the first place... Which is the case for her.

What I haven't told so far, to keep the conversation to the point, is that the "jeweller" who would do these bracelets would actually be me. I haven't done jewels before. This isn't an attempt to cheap out, I first intented to buy her the Shamballa Jewels bracelet (which is about $6K if memory serves) and the Cartier or Dior, but then figured out that it wasn't exactly what I'd like to get for her (there's a couple of personalised details I intend to do that haven't been mentioned here) and decided to contract a jeweller to custom do the bracelets instead. While doing some research on the subject, I eventually figured out that jewellery making could actually be self-taught in a relatively short timespan. I thought doing the bracelets myself would bring a whole different dimension to them and make the gift sooo much more meaningful (and appreciated). I've been told that it'd take 4-6 months to manage to pavé set diamonds, cast and solder gold properly. I'm wondering if that'd be a lovely or creepy/obnoxious thing to do, though :-s. Of course, if they don't come out immaculate after 4-6 months, I'd just have a professional do the job...

Also had in mind to learn painting and paint her favourite painting (Van Gogh's almond blossoms) with her cat sleeping on a branch and learn piano and hopefully manage to be able to properly play one of her favourite song (Debussy's clair de lune (5 minutes)). She'll be away in Europe from January 2nd to early August and I had in mind to welcome her back home with a bundle of awesomeness :smile1:.
