I mistakenly bought a Michael Kors bag that was a real bargain and too good to resist, but when it arrived the strap is so short, I can have it on my shoulder but not across my body.

Thankfully it was cheap enough to put away as a present for a friend or my niece, a lovely colour but a poor impulse buy.

I like the ALMA but it will be really awkward across your body.

I like the LV Brea the most. Then the Alma next. They're also the only bags on your list that won't ever go on sale, so you won't find them selling for less after you buy them.

I wouldn't be wearing any of these bags crossbody. I have smaller bags for that. I'm mainly looking for a more structured bag with a strap option. You're right about the Alma looking awkward crossbody.

I have both the LV Brea and the Givenchy Antigona. I've looked carefully at the Alma PM as well for a future purchase. I love my Antigona but for shoulder wear it is just a bit awkward. The handles on the bag are fixed and the shoulder strap isn't that long so it ends up looking not quite right to me as a shoulder bag. I do use the shoulder strap on occasion but just not very often.

The Brea shoulder strap works great, it's the proper length, it can also be removed if you want to just hand carry it. I love my Brea but the epi leather does give it a more formal look. In jeans, I think I'd reach for the Antigona over the Brea. The Brea looks fantastic though when I'm wearing dressier clothes.

I've looked at the Alma PM. I love it as a hand carry bag. I don't really care for it with the shoulder strap. I've probably been influenced by my SA who dislikes the shoulder strap option for the Alma with a passion to put it mildly lol.

Thanks for the info! I've read that about the Antigona shoulder strap as well. I do wear jeans often however. Overall, which bag do you like better?

Oh dear, I knew you'd ask that! Well . . . if I had to pick one, I'd go with the Antigona. It fits my generally more casual lifestyle. Mine is the small (not the mini) size in cherry red goat and it looks great with dresses, skirts, skinny jeans or pants. In black it would be very versatile. I have heard that the structure can soften up on the Antigona bags in calf in the medium size. There might be some pics in the Antigona thread in the Givenchy forum.
What size and material are you thinking of?

I would get the black glazed calf skin in the small size.

Thank you everybody for your input! I love the belt but it's also a harder bag to find. I already have a trapeze so that may be too similar. I'm now debating between the Antigona and Alma. I love how the Antigona has an edgier look and love the classic look of the Alma. Still can't decide but at least I've narrowed it down to two!

I have an SA that can get belt bags very easily if you are still considering it.

I'd go for the LV brea.

Not too big on that style by celine. Not going to lie in general I'm under impressed with most of the designs by celine.

While I love the look of the Givenchy ant the shoulder strap is a no go for me especially since the handles do not fold down. Also I feel like once it's broken in the shape of it will look sloppy. I like how it looks new but it looses shape when broken in and not in a good way. That is why I never got one even though I love it.

Between the two LVS I chose the Brea over the Alma. While the Alma is a classic shape I feel like it's too awkward to wear with a shoulder strap especially if you're looking to wear it cross body. I feel like the Brea is better designed for strap wear. If that option is a important factor in your decision. I feel like the style of the Brea is still classic but slightly different so it makes it stand out more. There are so many bags out there that are the same shape as the Alma it makes it a tad boring too me.

style-wise, I love the belt the most. I love mine!
the only concern may be the closure of the bag. once you've got used to it it's quite easy, just wanna let you know it can be opened using one hand but you'll likely need both hands to close it. see if that's okay for you...?

and I also love the Mansur Gavriel lady bag!! :)

Antigona: VERY Heavy! Strap isn't long enough so I only carried her by handheld. The only reason I'm still keeping her is because I like the sophisticated look of the bag.

Alma: versatile n classy. Can be handheld or crossbody.

Belt bag: I don't have this but I think it's nice! Reminds me of MG Lady bag

Brea: don't know much about this bag thought she's in my wishlist!

Out of this 4, I won't choose Antigona for above reasons. I would choose the one with crossbody option (just in case I need to b hands free)
