#3 looks most like an e-ring. . .
But I prefer #1, I'd probably choose #1 if you changed the center to a diamond and put the pink in the side stones.

I like the first look. I would consider making the size difference between the center stone & the side stones GREATER than what they are in the pic you showed. to me, that would help it to look more like an engagement ring & less like a RHR.

I do like swanky's idea too: diamond center with pink sapphire sides. however, I support your decision to wear a stone other than a diamond as your engagement rings since diamonds have only been popular e-ring stones since the early-mid 1900s.

First, thank you all for your opinions, suggestions, and your votes. I deeply appreciate it :flowers:

I went to my jeweler today to choose my pink sapphire that I wanted to have set. And my jeweler allowed me to take a few pictures of it, as well as the two settings that I have narrowed it down to. I really wanted these pictures so that I could show my mom, who lives more than 1 hour away and wouldn’t be able to see the actual ring until it was completed. She really liked the idea of the 3 stone ring, and she liked that setting the best. TBH when I tried on both settings, I preferred the way the 3 stone looked on my finger compared to the solitaire, but I still am not 100% chosen (more like 80%, lol).

Swanky, I like the idea of having a diamond center with 2 pink stones, and I have seen a few pictures online of rings like that which are beautiful. I just feel like that style with a diamond centerpiece is not something that I am comfortable wearing. I have a fake right now that is a cz centerpiece that I do not wear because I am not comfortable, lol sounds strange but I just don't know how to explain it.

frick&frack and Stophle, I agree that the other 2 stones in the 3 stone ring should be smaller than the central. I wish I had pictures when I posted this because I couldn’t find a setting for the life of me that matched the one I initially wanted, lol. That was a big concern of mine that it wouldn’t look engagement if they were all the same or very similar, that instead it would look fashion, like lily25 mentioned.

I would be happy to post pictures of the actual settings with the loose stone I have chosen, so I will do that in the next post I make

First are the settings, second is from an angle, third is the stone with flash, fourth and fifth are the stone without flash.

So the stone is chosen, now I just have to work on the setting! LOL. DF is crazy about the 3 stone one still.

you don't need to explain it :D We can't help how we feel!

So go for the 3 stone  I agree w/ whomever suggested making the outer stones smaller.

 I agree, where I live sapphires are more popular for erings. Also big pearls and various eternity rings (sapphire and diamond or entirely diamond). The solitaire diamond ring is in fashion less than 20 years... And still not as popular as the other rings. And almost no one has an diamond e ring with a center stone bigger than 1-2 cts. bigger diamonds are popular as push presents when women have their first child (new mothers actually get covered with jewelry and diamonds lol it's a sight!!!)...

I still prefer the 3-stone...it's gorgeous! in the actual setting you've shown, the side stones are smaller than the center. that looks much better to me even with diamonds, but especially with a colored stone as the centerpiece.

congratulations on selecting such a beautiful sapphire!!! I can't wait to see the finished product. it will be amazing & unique.

I think option 1 is fab. I like the actual 3 stone setting in latest post and it will looke beautiful with your colored center stone. Please post pics of the finished product.

Oh yeah, definitely the 3-stone now that I've seen your actual setting choices. I actually much prefer it to the solitaire and considering it's the one your DF really likes, you should definitely go that route.

That sapphire is beautiful! What gorgeous color saturation. Definitely makes me wish I could reset my oval. :smile1:
