Happy 2023! I’ve come to realize that I am drawn to trapezoid-shaped all-leather top handle bags (with optional strap I hardly ever use, and preferably with a touch of exotic)… I am currenly looking to add Delvaux (or another brand that fits the criteria)…. I do like diversity over duplicates…. Would appreciate any suggestions on brand, style, colour or type of leather… Many thanks!

Valextra, and I believe Loewe, make one too.

Yes to the Valextra Iside model. Comes in 4 sizes to suit all needs. Also check out Ferragamo.
Thanks… I just checked out Valextra’s website…they look well-made, leather quality seems similar to H Epsom (?) Sadly they don’t have much of a presence here in Canada

@JolieS oooo, I forgot I had this Ferragamo years ago which I used as a workbag…

yes, both Ferragamo and Loewe make great quality understated bags, and wishing they made ones that are leather-lined

sorry, to add… carrying large Trapezoid bags did appeal to me in my 20s / 30s quite stylish, if I may say, this in rotation w B35, large Antigona was the thing back then…. but nowadays, small to medium size is about all I need :)

I prefer the look of the Brillant to the tempete, but I found the B quite heavy and the buckle wasn’t as easy to work as I would have liked. I do like the box leather, which is heavier. As I get older, I’m more sensitive to weight lol. don’t know if that is a consideration for you
You and me both! I stay away from heavy bags (luggage being the exception… lol) Yes, I agree the look of the Brillant seems more timeless, and I have my eye on the mini in box… We do have a store here in Toronto, and will certainly test-drive it for ease of use (buckle etc). Thanks again for your insights!

Perhaps the Louis Vuitton Capucines? The larger sizes will likely be heavier, but a smaller size might work.
Thank you, yes I have considered the Capucines, but I can’t seem to get past the LV logo… which appears to be more prominent as the bag gets smaller in size. Hmmm…. Perhaps worth revisiting now that they have a few more options available on display (I remember they predominantly had galette and noir options for walk-ins)… and I don’t have the spending history to be offered a “special” combo from the back… Thanks again :)

You're welcome. Agree, the LV logo does seem more prominent on the smaller bags.
Another option might be the Celine 16 top handle bag. I haven't seen this bag in person, but it does not get talked about much; not sure why. Delvaux, Ferragamo and Valextra are all great options too (mentioned above). Good luck in your quest.

Hmmm- all my Ferragamo bags purchased in the last 5 years are leather lined.
