Thanks for sharing the photos, both pieces look so beautiful!!! I especially love the one where the Magic pendant is layered with pearls

Is the Magic pendant on the short chain smaller than the one that comes with the long chain? Or did you SO a smaller size?

The long magic pave in YG is not a standard order and I’m unsure if I would want to pay a SO premium even if I qualify. Thought perhaps if I wanted a YG pendant I could get the large Frivole pave pendant instead!

Hope your child is not feeling too unwell, it’s really the worst when they are sick ☹️

The shorter chain pave is slightly smaller, I believe. There isn’t the same versatility versus the long chain, I admit. It’s a standard vca piece, no SO needed!

He has a stomach ache. Maybe too much good food over the days. All is well. I have 3 kids, so well seasoned in dealing with it all.

I have to agree with @880.
I prefer the YG-10 motif on you. I’m not a fan of the blending in of the RG. I would also agree that the longer necklaces doubled up look messy to me. I can’t pull it off, and I don’t like long necklaces, they are not practical for my lifestyle and I’m short, lol. So, unless you like wearing longer necklaces daily, forget the 16.

I wear both pendants and 10 motifs. I will say the 10-motif hammered is heavier than the stone-10 motifs, so if you are like me, and you will wear the same piece for a week or two, it does get a little weighty after a coupe days. However, all you have to do is take it off every night, lol. I love both pendants and 10 motifs for casual. However, I am not a big fan of the Magic Pendants, especially in pave. Please don’t get mad at me everyone else, but the pave Magic in the larger size to me is like a flat pan. It’s too big and very monotonous, especially in the WG bc it’s all one color. I much prefer the large frivole on you. The flower lace is not an everyday necklace. It won’t suit every style of clothing, because of its asymmetry. I also feel like you have YG and the YG looks great on you, so don’t do WG.
Either get the 10 motif YG hammered or the Large-Pave Frivole in YG. You will use them and love them. Good luck! Fun decisions.

The small Frivole pave pendant is really pretty but felt a bit small on me. However, the large Frivole pave pendant has more presence, what do you think of it? Or alternatively would the 10 motif Alhambra necklace hammered YG be a better option for a gold piece? What would be a good YG piece to start with that can be worn easily?

I actually love the Rose de Noel MOP pieces, but that’s another thought for later down the road. I generally like the shiny MOP pieces and was thinking about the Cosmos range too!

I agree with @nicole0612. I think you would love the MOP RdN pendant. I don’t think that would get lost on you. The flowerlace I think can be tricky to be worn super casually from a super casual person. Maybe “designer” casual would be ok, but not “aviator nation” casual. KWIM? Not that the MOP RdN is much easier but I think it has more casual presence. Anyway…

However I’m wary about YG Alhambra pieces because my bracelet oxidised to a dark orange colour that had to be polished to return to the original YG colour.

forgot about this. did you come to a definitive conclusion. Is it all YG or VCA yg. Do you not wear YG anymore?

if YG is no longer viable, then I would choose RG. While I don’t mind some mixing, I think it has to blend, coordinate, or look like a deliberate style choice, and I don’t think a WG piece in the same or similar VCA line would look deliberate. . .

perhaps try to decide if you would like an alhambra, flower lace, or frivole necklace and go from there?

Which necklace speaks to you the most? You have several YG pieces, so are you wanting to build on YG (black onxy 10?) or are you wanting to diversify and dip into WG? I honestly love the flowerlace on you. It seems to me you want a statement necklace since you indicated the small frivole didn't stand out. I have some dainty Tiffany necklaces, so with VCA, my first piece was the MOP Magic Alhambra. I wanted it to be bold. If I had the flowerlace, I would also wear it casually too. Diamonds go with everything

LOL at the fan comparison I agree the magic pendant is a little big, hence I was hoping that it exists in a smaller size like the Magic ring/earrings/Ginza pendant sizes!

I think I’m convinced now on the 10 motif. Now, whether I would also want the Frivole pendant, and if I can go with small Frivole (it looks so pretty on everyone here and it’s cheaper too!)

I don’t think the RDN pieces can get lost on anyone, they have such a big presence!

And I agree, I wasn’t sure about the Flowerlace because it feels harder to wear casually, although it’s so pretty!

It’s the VCA YG piece that oxidised, but only happened with the 5 motif I got in 2019. A much older pair of Alhambra YG earrings look exactly as yellow as when I first got them!

I’m actually wanting to build on YG/RG. I have several dainty WG pieces from my younger days and so wanted something different now.

I initially planned to get the 10 motif Onyx, but it felt ‘flashy’ and didn’t feel like I would get much wear out of it. The 10 motif looks more subtle in hammer YG/RG plus less maintenance, so am now looking at that instead!

Sounding a bit contradictory now, but I like the flashiness of a big & shiny pendant necklace!

I like the idea of sets that I can wear together, but doesn’t have to be from the same collection.

With VCA, I like rose gold in the polished pieces (guilloche, Perlee) but prefer yellow gold on chains, vintage Alhambra. With Cartier I prefer RG! VCA’s rose gold blends in too much on me but it’s ok with the polished pieces, and I worry that YG might be too yellow with my skin tone (i think have yellow-ish skin colouring)

I’m now thinking of the YG 10 motif and perhaps one bling WG necklace that can stand on its own. Do I still get the YG Frivole though hmm

Yes, the smaller magic is available. @may3545 has both the smaller magic pave pendant and the flowerlace pendant, among many other beautiful pieces, so she may be able to provide some valuable input. I just noticed that all of your other pieces are in YG, so the large pave frivole pendant may be nice to go with your other pieces, but you said that you felt it vanished on you. Would you consider another line to go with your YG onyx pieces like an onyx Rose de Noel pendant or maybe one of the larger beaded Perlee necklaces with interchangeable beads? It looks like there may be one with onyx. @chiaoapple has many pendants including the beaded Perlee and may be able to recommend.

Back to the original question: If the OP wants something special yet everyday, of the current choices I am leaning towards the magic pave or frivole pave as in my opinion from the photos they stand out on OP the best.
For “write in” options, do go try on the lotus and maybe we can be potential twins! As for the perlee transforming necklace which I have and absolutely love, although it can be casual yet stand out, I honestly don’t think I would like to wear it too often…
