Hi everyone! I’m a longtime lurker on the forum, and would like to start by thanking everyone for the inspiration photos shared here!

I’m thinking of purchasing a necklace in gold (probably YG), and was looking at the hammered gold 10 motif necklace but am not sure if I can pull off the look. And then I started obsessing about the 16 motif sweet Alhambra necklace in hammered RG. However I’m wary about YG Alhambra pieces because my bracelet oxidised to a dark orange colour that had to be polished to return to the original YG colour.

I love the Frivole pave pendant that is regularly shared on the forum, but felt like it was lost on me and not noticeable enough (even though I’m only 5 ft tall!). So I started thinking maybe a larger pendant would work better, but would like to gather some views from everyone here please.

Not YG, but I love the look of the Magic Alhambra short necklace in WG with diamonds. But for that price point, would Flowerlace be a better option? Or alternatively large Frivole YG page necklace which is half the price? I dress quite casually most of the time, and would like a piece that be worn casually. All 3 are quite large sized pieces, if only the Magic Alhambra pave pendant necklace came with a smaller motif like the Magic ring/earrings!

Currently I only have a few pieces - Perlee Clover bracelet RG, VA onyx earrings YG and 5 motif VA bracelet in onyx

Photos below, and thank you in advance for your input!!

10 motif (YG) - is it too yellow for my skin tone?

10 motif (RG) - does RG blend in too much?

Are you looking for more of a statement piece that can be worn casually or for a subtle option that is not too noticeable? I feel like you would prefer the former. For some reason, the Flowerlace for you really jumps out at me based on your summary of what appeals to you. If you want a smaller size magic, there is a smaller magic in WG pave and WG MOP which are available (as well as the location specific smaller magic pendants).

I think I would like a statement piece that can be worn casually. I love how all these pieces look on everyone else here, but I was afraid the Flowerlace is too dressy, and thought maybe the Magic Alhambra looked more casual.

Is the Magic WG pave necklace available in the slightly smaller size? I thought they were both bigger than the Magic ring/earrings.

What do you think of the YG/RG pieces? I had started out actually looking for a necklace to go with my RG Perlee Clover bracelet… but got distracted when I saw a necklace that looks a lot like the Magic Alhambra pave necklace on a Korean tv drama!

Yes, the smaller magic is available. @may3545 has both the smaller magic pave pendant and the flowerlace pendant, among many other beautiful pieces, so she may be able to provide some valuable input. I just noticed that all of your other pieces are in YG, so the large pave frivole pendant may be nice to go with your other pieces, but you said that you felt it vanished on you. Would you consider another line to go with your YG onyx pieces like an onyx Rose de Noel pendant or maybe one of the larger beaded Perlee necklaces with interchangeable beads? It looks like there may be one with onyx. @chiaoapple has many pendants including the beaded Perlee and may be able to recommend.

Ooohh thanks for the info, I’ll try to look for pictures of the smaller Magic pave pendant!!

The small Frivole pave pendant is really pretty but felt a bit small on me. However, the large Frivole pave pendant has more presence, what do you think of it? Or alternatively would the 10 motif Alhambra necklace hammered YG be a better option for a gold piece? What would be a good YG piece to start with that can be worn easily?

I actually love the Rose de Noel MOP pieces, but that’s another thought for later down the road. I generally like the shiny MOP pieces and was thinking about the Cosmos range too!

I haven’t actually seen the beaded Perlee in person before, will ask when I go by the store next!

I think you look absolutely beautiful in the 10 motif (RG). RG has a habit of blending too much on me if too fine too, but this is a harmonious statement. The 10 looks so good, I don't think the 16 could improve, in fact superfluous.

Don't think in terms of money per sae, think only of how much enjoyment you'll get out of owning and wearing a piece and how much you will wear it. If you want the Magic Alhambra short necklace wg/diamonds get that one. It also looks fabulous on you - and really packs a statement punch (if that's what you're looking for).

i personally like YG on you; I feel that it pops more than RG. The RG is very nice; it’s a more subtle effect.
I do like the first 10 motif on you. I find the double stranded motifs a bit cluttered, but it may be bc your shirt neckline distracts. The WG hammered looks a bit like pave and pops more against your skintone. I don’t think a double strand in RG would be as crisp and clean as a single strand (10 motif). JMO

I am personally fine with wearing bold statement pieces every day, but that’s an individual thing too. i dont feel the need to match gold tone on a necklace and bracelet as they are worn far enough apart.

i do find that it helps people compare different items if all of your action pics are the same. It’s a little harder to see if gold tone blends or pops if the item lies against a contrast sweater or neutral t shirt. Hope you have fun deciding

ETA: I am not a fan of single pendants, but I do think that they look best on bare skin in an open v collar (like that of a button down shirt.

I think you definitely pull off the hammered! I personally love the RG hammered on you - though you may also want to try it against your bare skin to confirm on the tone. But in that photo, it looks so beautiful. Also can’t go wrong with YG if you want to match your onyx pieces. The only this I’d be cautious on is - what kind of necklines do you normally wear? If you are more crew / high neck, I think 10s are awesome. With v necks and lower cut tops, you’d have to try them on to see if you like the look.

I also love the idea of the small magic that Nicole posted if you can find it!

Generally, I like the bolder / big / solid pieces on you (vs petite details) - you can definitely pull them off!

Haha I have to reprioritise my wish list, that’s growing longer every time I go through photos here!

I’ll try to take a photo of RG against skin, but it definitely did blend in. I hadn’t considered the 16 motif till recently, with more in action photos posted lately!

On the WG pieces, the SAs that I spoke to in store all said they would go for Flowerlace over Magic Alhambra,
simply because it’s under the high jewellery range!

I agree, I wasn’t a huge fan of the 16 motif sweet necklace when I saw it on myself.

I’ve actually only worn pendants so far, that’s why unsure if I can pull off the 10 motif! And I know what you mean about the pendant against skin, when I tried it with a round neck t shirt, it looked a bit strange

I’m often in casual crew necks in weekends, and I agree, I like the 10 motif much better on me with crew neck tops.

I’m definitely open to getting both a pendant necklace (both YG and WG if budget allows) and a 10 motif, just need to pick the most suitable item in each type!

With the YG hammered, I’m really worried about oxidisation, as I was told each piece can only be polished 3 times in its lifetime!

I am wondering if you have all yg pieces, to consider the long magic pave in yellow gold?

As you can see in my photos, I love to match up the pendants with other pieces. Going wg may mean building a wg collection, if you’re keen on that?

I also love 10, I wear it casually as well.

Based on your photos, I like how the flowerlace sits on you! Sometimes i get tired of alhambra, so flowerlace, lotus, rose de noel, etc are favored when I want bling without obvious vca alhambra.

I’m writing quickly because I have a sick child on me. Lol. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing the photos, both pieces look so beautiful!!! I especially love the one where the Magic pendant is layered with pearls

Is the Magic pendant on the short chain smaller than the one that comes with the long chain? Or did you SO a smaller size?

The long magic pave in YG is not a standard order and I’m unsure if I would want to pay a SO premium even if I qualify. Thought perhaps if I wanted a YG pendant I could get the large Frivole pave pendant instead!

Hope your child is not feeling too unwell, it’s really the worst when they are sick ☹️
