OMG I am so sorry to hear this! Please keep us updated....

BTW, if you DID find your rings at a pawn shop, you would NOT have to buy them back, that is crazy. Call the police and they would contact the owner of the shop and the rings would be taken by the police as "recovered stolen property" and ALL pawn shop owners are mandated usually by state law and city municipal business codes for obtaining a Driver's License or otherwise issued government ID from the person "pawning" the rings/property.

Check Craigs list for your rings too!!! There is a TON of stolen property on there. If you locate them, call the police and advise them so they can follow up on it. Don't totally give up hope!

yup, this is true. in fact, you have to fill out a questionnaire whenever you sell something to a pawn shop (i.e. is this article owned by you? how long have you owned it? did you find the article? etc.). i found it really odd that the police officer told you that. i'm sorry but i truly think that you would have some recourse if you found your rings at a pawn shop. i seriously doubt you would have to buy it back because like kristie said, they would have all documentation on record of the person who sold it and they would go after them.

anyway, good luck with your insurance claim.

Insurance is taken care of, they are sending me a check this week. She also said the same thing about pawnshops/stolen goods: good luck with that. LOL. I can now decide how and if I will replace it.

Oh noooo ame *hugs to you*

Whoever took your purse will have no luck for it. I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. You poor thing!! :(

I know it's no consolation but at least you weren't injured *hugs again* xx

good news, ame! sounds like your insurance company is a breeze to work with. you never know how an insurance company will react to something like this, so it's good to know that they're there for you when needed.

hey, if/when you do get your new ring, post some pics.

True! I have Chubb so I kind of hoped all the talk about them was true and it was. My husband is SO upset that he wants no part of the replacement. The stone we picked out and he paid for and was so proud of is gone.

I will post what I end up with. Right now I am trying to decide if I want another solitaire and diamond band or if I want a 3stone and diamond or plain band. Either way I have a call into the vendor I think Ill buy the e-ring from, since I know he carries this cut I love.

it sounds like you're handling this very well, and that's wonderful. i'm sure after the initial shock of what happened, you're getting excited about picking out a new set. :yahoo: if anything, that's the fun part.

regardless, your original ring is gone, there's nothing you can do to change that, so you may as well look at this as something fun and exciting while you pick out your new set.

i have been in your shoes, so i know what it feels like. except mine wasn't stolen, it was lost a year and a half after we were married. i remember my husband and i were walking probably a mile or half mile up and down the road where i lost it looking for it, but never found it.

i was so upset and sad that i could barely move, but once i got beyond that and received the check from my insurance, i was anxious to buy my new set immediately, thereafter!!!

i'm sure whatever you decide will be awesome!

I am still in shock and still really upset, but at this point knowing the check is on the way and that I can redo without the karma, I am definitely ready to replace it. I am wearing two other bands i have on that finger and I feel weird not being able to go put the real ones on. It's kind of bugging me. I am still totally not believing it happened but I am already in the process of finding a replacement. I know when I order the wedding band if I get the same one, that will be 3-4 weeks wait time, so I can focus more on the e-ring. I am probably going to get the same thing I had, albeit slightly different ring and stone. I keep photoshopping things and while I like the look of a 3-stone...I don't know if I am in love with it with the wedding band I plan to replace.
