OP, I forgot to add that there was another lady on this forum who has very strong feelings about getting a Tiffany IDEAL diamond (she used the online calculator as well). She was the one who I learned about this ideal diamond thing from and she was very helpful. I think she has a 2 carat Tiffany diamond and she said it took her months before she found this ideal diamond. She said her SA showed her many diamonds and she requested to have the certificates in the store so she can calculate the # before the fiance bought it. If you really care, I would say you get an exchange for an ideal diamond.

Enjoy your ring!!!!!!!!! If the HCA is the end all and be all calculator of diamond beauty, then it wouldn't be a free to use! :)

It's just a piece-of-mind tool, trust me I once plugged in GIA "Very Good" cut specs and got 1 something in HCA whereas my EX/EX/EX cut stone scored a solid 2. So whatever, I still LOVE my stone.

You have a great ring with great specs and if it looks AMAZING to you then that's all that matters.

I got my Tiffany & Co's little blue folder today which contained the certificate for my e ring.
Immediatly I went online and tried the HCA (http://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca/) to get my diamond's TIC. I was really excited because Tiffany & Co claimes that they have the best of the BEST diamonds. However the result is shocking, it came back 3.9, with 2 "good" and 2"very good". I was expecting at least 3 excellents if not all four. What does this mean? Either the HCA is not accurate or the quality of the Tiffany & Co diamonds are just not as good as they used to be. Or maybe just mine? I don't know. Very disappointed. Please let me know what you think. 1.10 ct, F, VS2, EX EX EX

Can you post a picture of your ring?

Listen to your eyes, above all. :smile1: I have an AGS certified ideal cut stone that rated 2.9 on the HCA (if memory serves). It sparkles like the dickens and is pleasing to my eye. So, I chose to listen to that rather than to obsess over what some calculator says.

OP - The thing about a diamond ring (any one) is that it has flaws. It is carbon, just like us. Someone who LOVES you gave that to you. Someone made a big effort to get you what you wanted. Enjoy the beauty that is there. Always enjoy the beauty that is there.

I am sure your ring is beautiful and your relationship is durable!

If you love the ring, if you get happy looking at it b/c it sparkles, and if you feel proud wearing it, then who cares what a certificate says?

If it makes your eyes and heart happy, that is all that counts!!!
