My Tanzanite Gemstone arrived and I just wanted to share it with you ladies and get some of your opinion or input if you have any!

I've always wanted a Tanzanite, but couldn't find a dark enough stone at my local jewelry store, so I thought I purchased one online with the color I like and make into a simple right hand ring!

I'm no expert at stones, but I just fell in love with this one and purchased it on the spot.

What do you girls think of it? And for the experts, how is the quality of the stone?

According to the specs. it's 2.72 CT with slight mineral inclusion. Natural (unheated) and the cut is mixed round.

Sorry, I took these pictures with my little old camera and the lighting might be off.

Any input would be wondeful before I turn it into a ring! Im having trouble finding the perfect setting.

Very pretty! You don't see tanzanite in rounds a lot either, so yours is special! I like the color too- some of the colors you see are washed out lilac shades and although some people like that, I don't.

I like the idea of a halo too, or a three stone w/ tapered baguettes.

That's a gorgeous stone. I love that deep yet bright blue! I don't have any setting suggestions but I'm sure your ring will be beautiful.

Please post some modeling pix....

I've come across this seafoam tourmaline ring on the web and really liked it as an inspiration for my future RHR. Perhaps you can either
replace the smaller stones with diamonds or just get keep that space plain.

Thanks girls for all your input and suggestion! I'm glad the color and cut is okay! =) It's always great to run it by this forum first!

And nmlondon that setting is gorgeous! Im going to keep that style in mind!

Im most definitely going to post a picture of the ring once it's completed.

I'm going to visit a couple more jewelry stores before I decide on a setting. So far, I haven't seen anything in the 2 stores I love, but i hope soon!

The darker blue is the most valuable color. That color looks amazing. I think you made a great choice. When you have it set you might want to put it in a protective setting. Tanzanites are very soft and can chip easily. Also, they are prone to breaking if you go from hot to cold too quickly. Sadly, I chipped a really nice stone that way. You have a lovely stone. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
