Despite the coating, mine came with some pretty good water marks. I cleaned with LMB vachetta cleaner and it made it better. After some time, I'll repeat the cleaning process and maybe it will get even better.

I tried to wet the bottom of the speedy, the water didn‘t get absorbed easily, and it dried without mark . I bought from online reseller , it’s an unused piece, so the leather is perfect and still smell good .
After you cleaned yours, did the whole bag became darker?

I call them water drops, but they could be anything. It could be perfume, lotion, grease, anything. They were noticeable, but not terrible. And it did get better after cleaning. I didn't think so at first, but after a little time went by, they seemed to fade a bit.

You were crazy brave to wet the bottom as an experiment! Ha! Maybe just crazy! Haha. I'm glad to hear it though.

It all became a tad darker during the process of cleaning it, but not after it dried (which was pretty quick). I used Lovin My Bags Vachetta cleaner. I think I used three things, a cleaner, a conditioner, and a protector. But I'd have to look at the order again, I think you condition it first. I cannot remember, but it was a process.

I have two mono bags and don't want any more (the tiny Mini HL and the big Keepall 50), but I love the mono interior of the BB.
