I have been eyeing the Selma for a little over a month but could not decide which color I wanted. After finally deciding on the white for spring I took a trip to Macys because I would get 20% and purchased the last one. The SA brought it out all wrapped up in plastic and brand new so I did not feel the need to inspect the bag.

When I went to switch bags I noticed the god awful VERY noticeable crease in the front of the bag!!! After lusting over this bag for so long I was completely heartbroken and after giving it a lot of thought I decided to return her and NOT repurchase a different one.

I store my bags as neatly and carefully as humanly possible but it occured tome that if there is ever a time where I may store it incorrectly, someone or something bends it or w.e the case maybe that I can be dealing with this same issue all over again and I just cant bring myself to worry so much over a purse.

I'm sorry to hear this happen to you but I think this is a special case. So far I have two handbags from MK both with saffiano leather and this has never happened before. It could be that the leather was already defective before they constructed the bag.

I would take that back since it's quite now quite noticeable. I'm hoping for the Selma in navy on my birthday this Friday. Unfortunately, macys didn't get the navy, so no discount!

I´m so sorry this happened to your bag. This is definitely a defect, I think you got a faulty bag. None of the Selmas I´ve seen in store had this defect so I don´t think it´s a common problem. I´d take it back for sure but don´t be discouraged from getting another one. Just inspect the bag in store before buying :)

I had the same problem with the first cadet Selma I bought from Macys. It was new from the back room and all wrapped up in tissue. When I unwrapped it at home it had 2 creases like this on one side and several on the bottom. I took it back and they had to order another one for me. It didnt seem to me that these creases were repairable.

I have a studded Hamilton w this kind of leather and it's held up very well. However, I've heard of people that have stored their saff leather bags incorrectly and have had creases that won't come out. Not just with MK but other brands too.

It's a tough leather that takes a beating but at the same time unforgiving if it does happen to get a crease. This crease prob happened during shipping. Who knows but it didn't look nice.

Yes that crease would drive me insane as well ! give it another chance. !! super cute

I'm sorry this bag didn't work out for you :( that definitely looks like a defect from the manufacturer though, I think you have to treat this bag very harshly or with such nonchalance to get it to crease like that. Or it was defective when it shipped out. I don't think there's a hazard with owning the bag. I've found mine to be really durable and it keeps its shape so well. I'd imagine it'd be very hard to make a purposeful dent/crease in it.

My sister got a jet set tote that had a similar crease when she went to return it the associate apologized and explained the creasing was likely due to imperfections in the leather. I have a selma and I don't think that such a crease is possible as long as the bag is stored properly. That being said i do think compared to coach, the QA at MK is poorer and the overall quality of their product suffers as a result. I still love the Selma though its a gorgeous bag for the price point :)

It truly takes a lot to crease a saffiano leather and I honestly think it happens to the leather prior to making the bag making it a defect. The white is a gorgeous color!

There is no way I would accept something less than perfect! You pay for it full price! I hope you returned it! Bags like this belong at Tj Maxx or Marshals. I had to return my Selma to Macys because it came in the mail with all these inperfections like glue and just weird stuff. I don't mind buying at discount stores you know? but at Macys??? full price?? oh nooo honey!
