Same issue with my automatic - but mine runs slow.

That's why for my next watch, I will get a quartz! Yes the resale value is less and watch enthusiasts look down on quartz, but I intend to use, not to resell nor to treasure, and between inaccurate time keeping and the hundreds of dollars to perform regular maintenance, I've had it with automatics :).

Is this true for all automatics or just Rolex? Was eyeing a Cartier automatic but if this is seriously an issue it's not worth it to me. I don't ever resell my watches so that is not an issue.

My Tag Carrera gains 2-3 minutes a week. I'm going to try winding it every day to see if that does the trick. Love it, but wish it wouldn't do this!

my cartier pasha is pretty much always 2-3 minutes fast, it doesn't take more than a day for it to get that way. over the course of a week or more if I don't correct it, it can get up to 5 minutes fast.

but it's not a big deal to me, it doesn't take more than a second on the train in the morning to reset it back 2 minutes.

Hi, I am a new owner of my first Rolex watch. for those of you who are experienced with the watches, does your capture time 100% accurately? Mine seems to run a little faster. After a few days, it would be a minute or so faster, is that a problem that needs to be checked out?

Yes! Mine is doing this too! I've been reading and have learned that when they run fast, it is likely a magnetize issue. In my case I use a MacBook Pro, and iPad and an iPhone which all have magnets in them, especially the MBP. I just ordered a watch demagnetizer from Amazon but have tried it out yet.

Most of mine run fast. Automatics just aren't as accurate as quartz. But I love my automatics. They sometimes get up to 5 minutes fast if I haven't reset them in awhile. And I do have them serviced regularly. Actually my most accurate one is the one that has been the least serviced lol
