Thanks ladies!

Do you mean poking as in the bottom digging into the piercing? I don't have that problem with these so far...they are very comfortable. But with the 8 prongs converging, the bottom is very rounded...it might be pointier with only 3 prongs maybe?

Yes, the back (that comes to a point) where it meets the post. Can you post pics of different angles if you get a moment?

I changed my setting from a basket screw to a basket setting. I don't have issues with drooping since I had them order me elephant backs, but I prefer the 8 prongs! Mine are 2.25tcw

What a transformation! Just beautiful!

They look great! I think I have to have mine reset in a similar way? Mine are 1.5 ctw, but are set in a basket setting, and they do droop. Yours look beautiful!

You could try using a thick plastic backing or adding a piece of plastic between the earring and the backing to give your ear some support?? I've heard that works too...

I've actually been wanting to do this since I got my earrings. What did your jeweler quote you if you don't mind me asking?

My jeweler quote me $250 if he reuses the existing screw back post and backing...and $350 if he had to make new ones. Since the existing ones are still in perfect condition, I opted for reuse. This is a newer (to me) jeweler that I'm using, and I probably could have gotten it done for maybe 10-20% less if I went with my usual jeweler. But I find his work is on the less delicate side, so the prongs would have likely come out chunkier (which is what I didn't want).

Everything here in Canada is more expensive though! You should be able to find a jeweler for cheaper in the States to do that.

And here is how it sits on the ear...it doesn't dig in as much as 3 prongs I'd expect but still sits flat.

And this is the inspiration pic I brought to my jeweler, it's from White Flash and on a much bigger diamond...

I will definitely consider getting my larger studs in the future from them, their work is amazing...love how everything is hand forged and polished and rounded...

You are awesome and I am sold!! Haha ☺
Going to do this! Love that up-close shot on your ear. Is it weird that I think you have pretty ears? I guess one can only say that online lol

Love them!

Yay! I'm glad to have enabled you!

It may be a weird comment IRL, but I'm completely flattered! Haha! Thanks! :D

They're beautiful; I love the 8 prong martini look. I had a pair from Whiteflash, set in their 8 prong martini, for the last 7 years. I wore them virtually every day and had no issues at all. I just recently upgraded and went with a 4 prong martini, for a different look, but I still love the 8 prong. They also have a 6 prong martini setting, as well as the 3 and the 4, so there is a martini setting for everybody lol.

Enjoy!!

Thanks - That's what I've done for now, and it does help, but I love your setting! My problem too is that my holes have stretched - left ear more than the right (I'm quite old ;)), and I think the closer martini setting will look better.
