My old (but barely used) maxi has turned bronze ??

I understand what you’re saying but they probably thought of you that way anyway so might as well go all out. It‘s perfectly understandable since they apparently wanted you to buy sub-par quality bags and this gets even topped with your (formerly perfect) bag turning bronze. Oof. Big hug to you!

I guess I just get too worried about what people think of me. I already felt so awkward about the situation of not being satisfied with all the classic flaps she was bringing out. I just couldn’t face anymore! Next time I am there I will mention it for sure as my SA is really patient with me. I just didn’t want to bombard her with too many things at once as we were already focussed intensely on the classic flap situation!

I’m reviving this thread as I’ve noticed my Boy bag has developed a bronze tint! It’s black but almost looks metallic in some lights. At first i thought it was just the lighting in my bedroom but when I carried it outside today I saw it was the same. It’s made me fall out of love with my bag now and I’m wondering whether to sell it before it gets worse. I’ve no idea how it happened. Comparison pics below with my classic flap.
Could it be the type of caviar on the boy? Sometimes they have a different sheen etc. but I’d def talk to a a repair specialist. I don’t know that it can be repaired as it’s caviar but maybe they can redye it or something.

possibly. It’s the oldest caviar piece I own so I can’t really compare it with my other caviar bags but I hope they don’t do the same. I wonder if exposure to sunlight can make this happen? Although I never left it out in the sun or anything.

I had something similar happen to my black lambskin classic flap.. it was a very small section by the CC logo tab on the front flap and the Cadillac Select leather cleaner took care of it. Hope you find a solution… good luck!
I was going to say, I think a good cleaning may be the first place to start! I just went through and cleaned most of my bags with a couple cleaners I use, it's amazing what builds up on them even when they are just sitting in dustbags in cabinets! I even noticed some off my LV canvases looking weird, I thought they were just old and worn/discoloring.... turned out they had developed a thick grayish/yellow film, cleaned them and the canvas looks brand new.

Yeah, it looks like oxidation to me too. Take it to a professional leather person near you. I think it can easily be revived, after all it is black: color much easier to work with as opposed to white or pink or other light colors.

I've noticed my vintage beige lambskin flap has gotten a more yellow-toned look. It's not that noticeable, so I wear it as is.

Thank you all! We’ve a very temperate climate and when not being used it has been stored both in and out of its dustbag. It’s not bothering me hugely, but it definitely caught me by surprise! I’ll bring it to a restorer are some stage, but until then I’ll keep using her!

Awesome!! What exact product did you use to clean the canvas? I want to spruce mine up a bit!
