Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong spot but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.. I have albeit an old lambskin black maxi that has completely changed into a strange bronze ish color. The weird thing is I’ve probably only carried this bag a few times and it’s been in it’s dust bag in a dark normal temperature room and none of my other bags looks like this. Does anyone know what happened and or will Chanel somehow fix this ? Thank you so much for any feedback [emoji173]️59410304055__FFA82F3C-3E0F-4449-9F10-B7F745FA3551.JPGIMG_2661.JPGIMG_2662.JPG

Hhhhmmm. This is interesting. Never seen this happen before. I’m am of no help as I have no idea what to do. I would proboly try some leather conditioner first and then put black leather conditioner on top of it. I have done this on some of my corners and it worked great. I used both from Saphir.

Was your bag in the rain? I had a navy lambskin Lady Dior that turned a funky hue after I didn't dry it and store it properly after getting wet . I ended up bringing the bag to a leather repair and they re-dyed it for me. It came out perfect. I'd try the leather cleaner and conditioner that was suggested from Olgita, but if that doesn't work, a good leather repair person can make a black bag new again easily. Good luck.

I had this same issue with a bag years ago. It was perfect looking when I first purchased it from the boutique. I wore the bag a few times and then put it away. One day, I went to take it from its dust bag and noticed parts of the bag looked bronze. It had rarely been worn... I was shocked to discover this color change, but never did anything about it. Like you, I take good care of my bags and stored it properly. Please keep us posted on what can be done to remedy the color change. I hope you get good news about an easy solution.

I’m reviving this thread as I’ve noticed my Boy bag has developed a bronze tint! It’s black but almost looks metallic in some lights. At first i thought it was just the lighting in my bedroom but when I carried it outside today I saw it was the same. It’s made me fall out of love with my bag now and I’m wondering whether to sell it before it gets worse. I’ve no idea how it happened. Comparison pics below with my classic flap.

Oh wow that’s interesting. I wonder why. I have all black bags except for one that’s grey and none of mine look like it’s changing color. Can you bring it in and inquire? Maybe they know something we don’t?

it’s so strange isn’t it? I was in the boutique today and I was going to mention it to my SA but I thought she might think I was going mad because in some lighting you can’t really notice it! In others it’s really obvious. It’s a shame because I love this bag and it’s made me fall a bit out of love with it.

You were in the boutique and you didn't mention it?? They have other black bags that they can compare it to - it's like the perfect chance for you to express your concerns and maybe (maaayyybbbeeee) get better advice/explanations!

Lol! But what could they do about it? I’ve had the bag for years. I didn’t mention it because I was very involved in trying to pick a classic flap out of many defective ones and I thought mentioning the colour of my bag at this point was just too much as it already looked like I was being picky, and as I said, the bronze colour wasn’t obvious in that lighting.

I understand what you’re saying but they probably thought of you that way anyway so might as well go all out. It‘s perfectly understandable since they apparently wanted you to buy sub-par quality bags and this gets even topped with your (formerly perfect) bag turning bronze. Oof. Big hug to you!
