I had my stone set yesterday and unfortunately my stone (J color I think) looks extremely yellow next to the colorless stones on the halo. I am someone who really likes warmth, but the contrast of the stones does not look flattering. For sentimental reasons I do not want to part with my centerstone so I contacted my jeweler to discuss options and we came to a resolution.
My jeweler is sending my current ring back to Simon G Jewelry to have my stone removed and put in a new setting that has yellow gold and yellow diamonds on the halo which should improve the overall appearance of my stone.
I am disappointed and I think that's normal. I am sure when it comes back in two weeks the contrast between my stone and the yellow diamonds will look much more flattering together and I will fall in love again! The yellow gold version was, afterall, my first choice so I know that I will love it. It just sucks, because I've already become attached to this setting.
I can't wait to see pictures! I think your going to love it so much more and forget about this setting in no time.![]()
I wish I had a RB so I could get this setting (all white or yg/white)! I've already showed it to my Husband and said I want this!! I have a pear so I'd have to get the setting and center stone (not going to happen!).
Sorry it didn't work out the first time for you but like I said I think you'll love it so much more!!
Thanks for the response! You're absolutely right, I am sure once I get it back I will totally forget about the rose gold! I compared my stone to some of their yellow diamonds when I went to drop it off on my lunchbreak and I think it will look much nicer! Now time to play the waiting game... 2 weeks!
Oh, I just had an metal image of the same ring but with a pear stone/halo! Wow that would be something else!
I always wanted a pear stone, but my hubby doesn't really like "points" (pear, princess, marquise) so we compromised on round hehe!
