Hello everyone, yesterday I received my new .56 ct diamond eternity band from my husband for our 2nd anniversary which is in a couple of weeks. It replaces my original eternity band that I lost after we were first married. My original eternity band matched the width of the shank on my ering, and I really liked that. My new band I picked has the same size diamonds as the shank of my ering but for some reason it is not as wide. I think my ering shank is 2 mm wide and the width of the new eternity band is about 1.7 mm. I wouldn't think it would make that much difference but when I put in on yesterday it did bother me a little. After wearing it all day today, I am liking the look more. It is my understanding that I am able to exchange it for a bigger band and pay the difference, but I am not sure if I should do it or not. Do you think the thinner band looks odd with my ering or do you think it works with my ering? Thanks so much for your thoughts!

The first picture is with my original 2mm eternity and the last 3 are with my new eternity band.

As my SA at Borsheim's told me back in the day when I was picking out my eternity band, "you don't want it to look like a matchy matchy set that you bought at the mall".... I think some contrast is a good thing. Let your Ering be the star of the show-it's gorgeous!

I like the thinner band! It lets your gorgeous ER be the star!

Thanks very much. After looking at pictures I complete agree!!!!!

I LOVE it! I prefer not matching perfectly though :)

Thank you very much. I also love non matchy sets so I am not sure why I had the reaction I first did when I put the the rings together. After looking at the photos, I realize that I love the daintiness of the band and would not change a thing! I love vintage bands with alternating shapes so maybe I'll look at one of those for my next anniversary (lol)!!!!!

Thank you so much. I am loving the little contrast now and in fact that is why I decided to pair an emerald cut sapphire with the diamond halo - love the contrast!!!! My husband completely agrees as well to let the ering by the star!!!

I prefer the size of the new one. I love how delcate it is.

Thank you - I love the daintiness and how delicate it is as well!

I like your new band better than the old one.

Thank you - I love it now and am happy that it isn't a perfect match!

Love the new band! I wouldn't change anything.

Thank you! I can't believe I was considering changing it. I love love love it and how it works with my ering!!!!!

I love the new band also.

Thank you - I couldn't be any happier with my set!!!!!

Thank you! I agree my ering is the star of the set - love love love it!!!!!

I prefer the second over the first. Beautiful x

Thank you! I honestly do love it now and also prefer it over my first band as well. Can't wait to wear it out again today!!!!

I actually would rather they be IDENTICAL matches.

Thank you! When I got my first band it was a very very very close match to my ering although the picture I attached isn't the best for showing that. I find that my preferences have definitely changed over the past few years, and I find myself drawn to non matchy sets. I love all the photos I am seeing here that include delicate vintage bands and the plain gold bands as well. I may have to look into this to play around with as well!!!!

That's my point too

Thank you! I do love how its dainty and doesn't take away from or compete with the star of the finger!!!!!

Both are gorgeous but I am sorry I personally prefer your first band BUT the second one is very special as it is a gift from your husband and I would not change it either, it too looks beautiful with your E ring.
