Yeah, the Bal Work really rocks. I first wanted a smaller handheld with the option of the shoulder strap, but I accept the majorities opinion it looks quite feminine. So most possibly I will "change" it for a Work. But Balenciaga is a really perfect alternative to LV.
I love your BV too, in fact a BV was my alternative to the City, only reason I opted for the Bal was the price (round € 500 less). How much did you spend on the BV and whats the model name?
You are completely right, most LV and other brands men's bags are a kind of boring, that's why I had to look for women's bags that don't look to feminine on men and ended with Bal and BV.
The Beaubourg is really great, just will go for the Mick as I wanna have a Damier Graphite one now...

I know what you mean! I really admire the bags meant for the ladies but my work place (and partner) stop me from buying!
I got the BV at such an amazing price. It's called the Intrecciato Vintage Informale Bag and I got it 40% off in BV Indonesia (paid around US $1500+ only, discounted from US $2500+.) It was the last piece and the SAs were patient in holding the bag for me until I was sure I wanted it. Everyone was inquiring about it since it's quite popular apparently. In BV Philippines and Singapore, this bag was around US $3000+. And they were only discounting it at 10% off! So I was really lucky!
What a great collection, my favorite is the BV, and when I read you got it for 40% off I like it even more!
