Hello all,
I've been engaged since October of last year but, never had the urge to post pictures. I thought it was because I didn't feel the need to really share but I finally realized it was because I wasn't entirely in love with the ring. I loved the diamond. I was just iffy about the setting. My boyfriend and I initially wanted to stick with a plain setting so that the diamond would be the focal point. When I was first engaged I was of course excited to be wearing my ring but, after a while the Trellis setting bothered me. I felt the thickness of the band and how high the diamond sat actually took focus away from the diamond even though it was a plain setting. The prongs also seemed to make my round brilliant appear more squarish. I was also secretly wishing that my setting was more delicate and "feminine."
As luck would have it, I stumbled across a sale at local jeweler where they were having huge discounts up to 50% off. I fell in love with the Coast setting that was totally opposite of my first setting and what I thought I wanted. It it's a lot thinner that my original setting. It has pave diamonds halfway around the band, a surprise diamond on the front and back in between the prongs and it doesn't sit as high. Even though there's more going on with this ring than my original setting, it's so delicate looking that the setting doesn't detract from the main diamond. It's also platinum. My old setting was white gold. I'm so in love with it and so excited to share pictures.
