i'm just so psyched about my new necklace! Please let me share my story!

i had been obsessing with the Tiffany 18K yellow gold DBTY necklace for a while, but not liking too much about the 16" short length. I prefer my necklaces to be less choker-like, and always wished that the DBTY necklace came in the 18" version.

my uncle owns a jewelry company and they told me it's no problem for them to create one for me! so i ...

- got the plain 18" 18K yellow gold elsa peretti chain from Tiffany = US$200
- picked out the diamond of my choice on the James Allen website (0.35ct, F, VVS1, H&A, AGS certified, HCA score 0.6!) = US$700 with pricescope discount
- handed the gold chain, diamond, and my mom's original tiffany DBTY necklace to my uncle's jewelry company! (they set it for me for US$150)

outcome:

18" DBTY necklace with the exact tiffany setting, original tiffany gold chain, with a perfect, colorless, H&A diamond!

total came out to be just about $1050 ! i went to tiffany before getting this made, checked on the price of a 0.33ct, G color, VVS clarity, 16" chain, and the price, gasp, was $2580 !

I'm just so thrilled that I was able to do this! my DF ended up paying for this as an xmas present to me ! i have been wearing this every day since!

I know this thread is really old but I just wanted to tell you that your necklace is beautiful and absolutely stunning on-- I came across this thread while looking for modeling shots of dbty necklaces and this post convinced me to get mine in YG instead of WG.

I'm sure that the necklace has a great deal of sentimental value, as you used your mother's original DBTY setting and your uncle's jewelry company created the piece for you. That, and the diamond is EXACTLY what you wanted at a fraction of the Tiffany & Co. price!
