Lovely necklace! I'm glad you treated yourself because as a nurse, you deserve it! You really can't notice the bezel except in the highly magnified photo. I didn't know that Blue Nile had dbty - I will have to check them out!

LOVE IT! I do agree their bezeling is not ideal, but it is a nice piece!

Thanks Ame. I just have to decide if this bezel is good enough I guess. I really don't know if they could improve it if they tried because I don't know anything about the manufacturing process. Either way it still isn't a noticable enough flaw for me to pay the T&Co premium

I love it! great everyday size too. if the bezel bothers you when you wear it then yes I would have them fix it, but if it is only noticable under magnification then I would enjoy your new necklace and try to forget about the bezel problems :D

I can't see the flaw when I wear it and only really noticed it when my camera was in "macro focus" mode. Your logical advice is really helpful. It's what I want to hear because I can't bear the idea of taking it off now. Still there's a small part of me that is nagging at me to try to get it perfect. I just don't see them being able to make it any better for this price point.

I can comment on the bezel~ It is beautiful and it is a one of a kind. Bezels are hard. They have to be hand made to fit around the diamond you purchase if not already prefab. My original E ring was designed by me and was bezel set. The diamonds were purchased loose, and then the ring was literally made around my diamonds and bezel set. It too was not "perfect" and nor would it ever be. However, I cannot tell you how many people commented on my ring over the last 13 years. Having said this, your bezel is pretty good~ it will not ever be perfect. You need to decide if it is good enough for you.
and...thank you for all that you do for the ill. Your compassion is what keeps me going on a daily basis in the world that has become so cynical.

Thank you for the background info on bezel settings. I really had no idea it was that involved. It makes it even more valuable to me. I especially appreciated you pointing out that it couldn't be perfect because if it's impossible then I am pretty sure there's no point in me sending it back to be redone. What you said about nurses was very touching. I think that people's appreciation of what we do is what keeps me in the career even with the month I just had. (well that and this necklace :)

Your necklace looks beautiful....the diamond looks fabulous!
I am actually trying to decide where to get my dbty necklace from. I also went to Tiffany and tried on the .14 and while it was pretty I was a little underwhelmed considering the $1000 price tag. I tried on one for $1200...it was either .18 or .20 and I was much happier with that size. I've also checked out blue nile and love that I can get stone that's double in size for a few hundred less than Tiffany...but I was unsure because of some reviews that the bezels from BN were uneven. Do you notice the imperfections in the bezel when you're wearing it? Does it stay where it should when you wear it (not ride up or flip)? I'm leaning towards trying Blue Nile. Your necklace looks great on you!

That's exactly what I did. Also when I tried it on at T&Co I could feel the back of the diamond poking me. The Blue Nile version is set differently so that won't happen, and truthfully doesn't look as elegant from the side as the Tiffany's one IMO (it's more of a basket whereas T&Co's is a thin ring). But I am happy with that because I couldn't stand the poking. I don't notice the imperfections in the bezel even if I stare very closely at it. It is definitely not noticeable when I am wearing it. It doesn't flip but it does ride up occasionally. I've read that this happens no matter where you get it because of the way it's designed. Let us know which one you get. I am very happy with mine and Blue Nile has amazing customer service. I was even able to google a coupon code to get $100 off.

Can I ask what kind of chain you got...14k, 18k, or platinum? And how long is your chain? I usually get a 17 or 18 inch, but I'm wondering if this style would look better a little shorter.
I'm wishing I examined the Tiffany dbty a little closer while I was there. I wonder if their dbty has irregularities in the bezels too. I didn't even think to look.
I'm feeling pretty close to trying out the BN...thanks for posting such great pics!

My chain is 16 inches long and actually sits a little higher than it shows in the picture. I think my 1yr old tugged on it right before I took it so it's laying as low as it possibly can. I am 5 feet tall and have a fairly narrow neck so most 16 inch necklaces look like they are 18 on me. I'm actually strongly considering having them shorten it. I think this style of necklace looks best when it's on the shorter side. I just wonder if it will be more likely to flip if I shorten it. It really doesn't flip right now. I'm going to wear it around longer to see where it really sits/if it rides up a little.

The Tiffany bezel is amazing. I looked at it very closely and I could not find any flaws. I'm sure that I could find something wrong if I REALLY magnified it but I think they make the best bezel you can find anywhere and that's why it costs so much. Even my sterling silver T&Co DBTY bracelet has a better bezel than my white gold BN necklace. There are really good pictures of the bezel work on page 2 of this thread http://forum.purseblog.com/the-jewelry-box/show-your-tiffany-dbty-necklace-566582-2.html if you're interested. I guess it just comes down to what is more important to you. To me it was getting a bigger, better diamond within my price range.
