As far as the bag goes, its beautiful and well made, but you have to love it to keep it. Many girls/guys would kill for a well made PM like yours
I think it’s perfect, but if it’s a bag you don’t feel you’ll grab for and use, then I would return it for something you think you’ll get lots of use out of.
I think the bag looks fine, I would not have noticed any problem so it is whether or not you are comfortable with it. I have this bag and LOVE it. So comfortable to wear, carries a good amount, looks good IMO, all weather, no complaints.
Happy Birthday! To me the bag looks gorgeous but I understand the hesitation. I rarely immediately love my bags, especially during the first day or two, because I'm obsessing over the imperfections. I would give it at least a week and see how you feel after you've had a chance to get used to the size and quirks (all LV bags have some quirks). Some of my most loved and adored LVs are ones I just needed time to adjust to. But either way how exciting to celebrate your birthday with a gorgeous bag (whether it's this or a different one). 
I have never understood the hype around this bag and probably never will. That being said, it does look well made to me. Any imperfections I saw were from me looking for them after reading your post. Maybe this just isn't the bag for you. I think it can be easy for us to see a bag on other people and get caught up in the hype and really want it badly, but it just doesn't work for us personally. I went through the same thing with the Neverfull. I purchased that bag on two different occasions and each time ended up selling it. I love the look of it on others but it just IS NOT my bag. I would return this and wait for or look for something that really makes you happy. Good luck!

I love it! I got my PM in monogram. And the day I went to pick it up, the sales rep told me a reverse came in. I was so torn. Kept my mono, but lusted over a reverse ever since. Truth is I hate babying vachetta, but yes, the brown/ taupe color of the reverse sort of surprised me in a way. It wasn't love at first sight. But in retrospect I wish I went for the reverse.

Happy birthday to you. Honestly, I don't think the bag look bad. I saw from another thread that the lock is a little crooked too. However, if this bag is not making you happy, I would just return it. However, do keep it for a week or 2, to see if you are going to miss it if you return.

I think your PM is well made, and it is so great that it makes you heart-eyed - isn’t it nice how such beauties make us happy The small crookedness, now that you point it, imho could only possibly diminish the ease of resale - lots of people talk of resale value nowadays which I personally do not like very much, but it could be a valid point.
Speaking of how the PM looks on you: did you try it with different clothes on, incl. the bulkier cool season things? A t-shirt vs a jacket/coat changes the “perfect“ size of a bag quite a bit. Also, the trend for mini bags is not a forever thing imho.
Re the MPA: ok, I‘m biased bc I strongly dislike the overly street-style design. But once the hype for this style dies off (and I‘m sure it will unlike the forever satchel design of the PM) you could dismantle it and use the parts for proper pochettes and a useful bag strap separately.

So you get heart eyes when you look at it? Thats a good sign! Try adjusting the strap to get it to a drop you like and then walk passed your mirror, glancing at yourself as you walk by. Do you still get heart eyes? I find this is a better approach versus standing in front of a mirror and inspecting yourself.
It’s a gorgeous piece! I LOVE my PM in noir empriente. It had been on my wish list for ages and once I brought it home, I was all smiles for weeks. It will indeed soften up a bit and contour to your body with use.
Ultimatley, however, youve got to love what you’re buying / wearing. If it doesn’t spark joy, return it.
