This is what happened to my Alma bb epi leather which i use it occasionally. I carried this bag on my vacation and out of a sudden, the strap fell onto the floor when i was seating in the bus. Luckily i managed to hold my bag at that time and it didn't land on the floor.

Went to nearest Lv store this morning. They said it was due to usage. Huh? Usage? My bag is still really new because i dont treat this bag as daily use ya. Asked them kindly teach me how to use then only the hook would be fine in the future? They said don't hook your strap too fast on the bag, dont sling it too much front back front back! They charged me £50 in order to replace a new hook since my bag is already over 2 years. My bag is 2 years 2 months old ya from the day i bought from my regular SA but too bad she already resigned last month.

I am just pissed off and sad. It's clearly there is a quality issue on the hook.

Never had this happen to one of my hooks. Imo this shouldn't happen due to 'usage'. It's not an ornament it's meant for use, I would make a complaint about it.
I already launched a complain by emailing to the customer service. I have few bags with this kind of hooks... all of them are just fine. I told them if i bear for the cost of repair, how can you ensure me the new hook would be fine? They said would give me a year of sort of warranty... huh!

i think i had heard someone here had same thing happen to her bag (probably months ago or last year), i haven't had issue with any of my hocks, knock the wood. that is weird they won't replace the strap for you, it should be quality issue in my opinion.
